How to choose the right reverb

This is something that has always been a problem for me and I think this video give a very interesting explanantion on why this is important.

  • David Byrne is a great speaker, lisp and all.

    I love the topic of "spaces."

    One part he didn't really delve into is that a lot of concert halls & big live rooms are designed so that the orchestra play in a zone that is free from reverberation.

  • If you're creating music in a genre that is supposed to sound like it's in a real place, you should be careful with the reverb in that regard. If you're creating music that has no implied space, you can do whatever you want that sounds good.

    That’s intriguing. Hall has always been my favorite ‘verb. Now I feel an internal conflict brewing, lol. You know, up top, in my Talkin’ Head.
