how to get that 80’s gated drum sound on ios

What are some of your techniques and apps to get that 80’s reverb sound on ios?
i’ve been using a chain of any drum app->eos reverb-> and eos envolver for the gate.
what do you guys and girls use?

    I don’t particularly like that sound/use it rarely. But IMO one of DDMF Envelopes biggest strength is the gated algorithm.

    Most DAWs have automation and a reverb bad enough to sound like 80s.
    Just automate the reverb level to cut the reverb tail like Phil B)

  • yeah, i’m not a huge fan of that sound from the 80’s , but i’ve been feeding some more modern sounds into a gated chain with some interesting results..... i’m always experimenting with old and new sounds and techniques.........
    oh cool, i didn’t even think of ddfm. i’m gonna try it out now. > @recccp said:

    Almost forgot...
    Kleverb has great built in gate. Probably more flexible than Envelope.

    @eross I did a video on this very thing right here:

  • @eross Here is one I did for that effect just using the effects built into Cubasis

  • Oh snap! What's your flavour:

    @thesoundtestroom with Cubasis

    @Daveypoo with apeMatrix

    CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON!

  • @Daveypoo @thesoundtestroom

    oh wow thanks for the video links! very cool

  • If you have Cubasis & FX Pack 1, try the Non-linear Reverb.
    It is made to do the gated reverb thingy.
