Generative Sequencer
Maybe i have not searching enough, but is there any generative sequencer app like rozeta particle/riffer etc that we can change chord/scale on the fly? e.g press Am chord on midi keyboard than change press Fmaj..
Comments
Steppolyarp does what you’re asking for the best.
OTHERS:
the demo below is Bram Roseta (name changed)
iBassist does similar
You can also set up ChordPadPoly or NaviChord to route to instruments with their generative chords.
TRY: ChordPadPoly — > Roseta Arpeggio —> instrument of choice
Also try routing your riff through ScaleBud
Best solution I’ve found...
xynthesizer app (you can do scaler chord like transpose (ie I,II,III,ETC)
either via a keyboard, or routing some other sequencer or generator into it.
route it’s midi where you like. If the sequence is outputt’n poly data, run that into steppolyarpunitzappa and leverage its ability to index chord notes (1,2,3,4,etc) and put those indexes on lanes with varying length.
You can end up with really complex generative stuff that is very controllable and also very musically coherent and not just random bleeps and bloops.
Wow, thanks guys..i’ll try it. step poly arp i think will fit my workflow
To me Navichord is the ultimate! Especially with Song Mode.
i have it sending it’s Chord midi out in Song Mode to iBassist which is also in live midi-in mode. All hosted in AB3. Navichord has Ableton Link and currently beta testing Ableton Link with Start Stop! And cool thing is that it also has AudioBus estate saving for perfect recall of setup etc!
pair all this with Rock Drummer and it’s becoming my One Man Band setup for quick inspiration!
I’m almost done working on it. Yesterday I was completely blown away at iBassist, Navichord, Rock Drummer. I got it where I have a great baseline playing with me in realtime, changing chords I’m realtime inside Navichord which is sending chords to a Synth as well. I found this realtime process more inspiring for me as I don’t worry about the Bass line or drums and just let iBassist and Rock-drummer do their thing!
I worry more on the feel of the song I’m trying to come up with especially the chords.
Since most of these chords are preset in the Navichord matrix, changing them in realtime is a pure joy while I’m able to even do a melody in realtime as well sending to another synth! All hosted within AB3.
I’ll try to polish it up a bit more and I’ll post it.
