AU Sample & Hold style random MIDI?
Seen as AUs feel like modules in a modular system I wonder if there is a random note generator in the style of eurorack’s Turing Machine. Now obviously we are talking MIDI not CV, I am referring more to note data as things like Rozeta’s LFO can produce random CC.
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Hold that thought.
You are the exact person I would have hoped to reply here! And promisingly too!
That was very much my intention with Autony (which you can find on the app store)
And Autony is excellent. The control dials are still very fiddly to set - I think some reported improvement after an update but it's no better than at initial release for me. But apart from that it's a brilliant app.
I have Autony and well, I will look at it again, but I hated the knobs when I first got it and well, the design leaves a lot to be desired, for example the font at the top overlaps in a way that doesnt look deliberate.
Sorry if that appears harsh, it is a multi featured app and I like that everything is MIDI mappable. But as I say Ill give it another whirl.
however other apps in this avenue would be nice for different flavours.
Yep, I use Autony for this purpose and works well for me.
Is midi mapping working for folks with Autony? Love running multiple lanes of it in Audiobus.
@pagefall
So I had some fun with Automy this afternoon on the train. The wealth of parameters are great, its so deep.
The knobs are much improved but to honest, not enough. It has upgraded from unusable to fiddly. So until I can release my fingertip and it doesnt jump a value, I cant see myself using this in a live situation.
I still think the skin incredibly tacky! (and pink is one of my favourite colours!)
sorry if you don't like the design - it is deliberate
I was in hospital for most of January & I've not started work on the apps again. I totally rewrote the controls for the new app (Cality) - I don't think I've back ported them to Autony. However beta testers are still not quite happy with them (although I'm now struggling to tell the difference between it and other apps I use - I could see what you all mean about Autony ones)
Design wise the new app is similar to Autony so you aren't going to like that either.....
For my next app I'm going to take a very different approach to the layout so we'll see
Oh - midi mapping apparently broke with the recent AUM update - I think I'm going to drop the midi page completely and just rely on the host facilities - AUM and Audiobus seem to have better support for that and it's better to be consistent
"Design wise the new app is similar to Autony so you aren't going to like that either....."
That really does depend on what it does!
Every @brambos app is an insta-buy for me. Can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with! @pagefall I agree with the others, the knobs still need work, but the app is soooooo good!
it makes clouds of midi notes based on the input - sort of midi "grains" - you can use it for everything from systems music to getting new textures out of synths. It also has a note quantizer and lets you and swing to incoming notes and filter notes by probability
Here is the "manual" I made for beta testers (the voice/sound balance is a bit out - was just a rough guide to get people started)
@brambos , @pagefall - your tools have been a tremendous help with my walk into the generative realm.
Eyes on everything You do 👍🏼
nice to hear & thank you - next one I'm making may well be interesting to you as well! ;-)
Oh yeah!
Nice, that works, thanks.
