Whoops I’m in update jail to. Finally got updates to even show up, but it looks like I’m waiting til Friday.
That’s my guess as well. But it would be nice to know what I’m spending my $99 on, rather than guessing. Not sure why they haven’t finalized those yet.
No, apart from the track naming. Still no select all in the editor, so you can only select notes in 8 bars in a 16 bar sequence. Still no value readout in the automation editor.
Mmm...it is possible now to send midi out to external intruments. So I can finally use Gadget in AUM, playing internal AND external instruments. Good good
no workflow improvements at all, apart of some autobeat drum pattern presets for those who are not able to build basic drum beat :-)))
Thanks God - autosave 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Oh, how many hours I lost because of not saving my work...
And one more - every scene could have it's own tempo. nice
All these years and they release an update for iPolySix still without Link??
Or am I just missing a setting somewhere?
Well, at least within Gadget Link is supported. That’s something.
Wow, 99$ for the upgrade! This makes KORG Gadget the most expensive music app that I have. :(
Love the ’any track’ audio-routing to the iMS-20 gadget And the Polysix Gadget is neat :)
Now if the ’other’ audio gadgets had gotten similar treatment it would be a real blast!(ie. use Durban, Rosario or Zurich or what it’s name was as an audio effects for any track).
Still missing on-screen velocity for note-input and more advanced editing tools, not to mention render scene/track to audio for quick re-sampling.
Thought we’d get the two new Sega & Taito Gadgets already but so far it’s been a fully ’free’ update since I already had the others. (Will see how they install on the iPhone after some morning walk-exercise).
Will dig deeper later but so far I like it, hope to see an option to disable the gradient back-ground as it hurts my eyes :(
Track Names
Be carefully, PC plugin pack contains only 20 plugins and they said that next will be in future update. @davis_korgrd You should confirm that it will be free upgrade to get all plugins - Am I right?
The new gradient background makes it difficult to see the piano roll editor grid lines without turning the brightness way up. I also hope they give an option for this.
Things I like best from this update are the midi out gadget (thought they might charge for this) and the saturator effect.
Really, that's it? You guys have been excited about this for a while now. I don't use it but had to check it out since I bought it...and that's it?
I've seen this complaint a few times already, but it's $49.99 (which Korg isn't very clear about). The upgrade instructions on the product page mention (in red) that you have to use a coupon code to get the upgrade.
Login to your Korg ID, and look at your registered products. It will give you an upgrade code that knocks the price down $50.
Is it possible to delete a track? I’m forever adding gadgets I don’t want, and they just sit there.
Hit function on the main song page
Well I haven‘t been too excited, because I already liked it a lot how it was. So, no reason to be disappointed either. Best thing for me is the iMS-20 on sale.
Yes. Expand the mixer channels upward and hit Function. You’ll see it.
I’ll have to take another look. When I looked at it before, it was showing $199 for new users, and $99 for current owners. I didn’t go all the way through with adding it to the cart, entering the coupon code, etc. I can live with $49, as that was about what I was expecting.
Yeah, it doesn't knock off the $50 until after it is in your cart and the coupon is applied. They should really have been more straightforward with that info.
Is there any way to install ims-20 on an iphone without having an iPad? It is shown as iPad only on App Store and it does not appear in Gadgets list to purchase.
I note in the description, project files created in gadget 2 are not compatible with gadget 1 (obvious I guess) but are gadget 1 projects compatible with gadget 2 ?
As far as I've tried, everything has worked going 1 -> 2. I would have been incredibly bad programming if they hadn't done that.
of course YES
As I just purchased iMS-20, here‘s a question: The presets that „Memphis“ contains in Gadget are not accessible in the standalone version of iMS-20, right? Or am I doing something wrong?
I don”t think so. The only way they install on the phone is through remote install, meaning you have to first have it installed in iPad Gadget, then have gadget running on the iPad and the phone at the same time and then Perform the remote install on the iPhone Gadget.
Just to be sure.. can I install v2 next to gadget v1?
On iOS? No.
Yeah I meant on iOS... well, I really hate those dark backgrounds... I'll wait then untill they offer a lighter option...
A quick n' dirty demo of me using Korg Gadget 2 to control synths on AUM with the new Midi Gadget, Taipei. Taipei controller is controlled by nanoKeyStudio. This basically remove a lot of midi controller conflict headaches of controlling gadget and other supporting synths in AUM or AB3. This makes your gadget a one stop shop for your controller needs especially if you own both the nanoKontrolStudio an the nanoKeyStudio. This exactly what I could hope for.
