korg i-MS20 , so good ....and patch cards

I can't believe I waited this long to grab this, but now that it's gadgetized I couldn't resist!
Anyway I'm having too much fun learning it and digging into its grit and grime,... With added ifx saturation you can't go wrong..

I've been using these patch cards to learn the synth by programming these in and listening to every twist and plug to see how it effects the sound so I wanted to share the patch card site with you guys...

Enjoy!!

  • This is a dope one...obviously

  • Wow, thanks for sharing. Didn't know about that site. Reminds me of the good 'ol days when they published patches in Magazines that you could copy to your hardware. Lots of fun.

    IKR those were the days!
I prefer these patch cards to just a bunch of presets you download because you actually get to learn the steps it takes to program the sound rather than trying to reverse engineer it haha and you get an idea of things you can do differently to modify the sound .... And just helps me enjoy the synth a lot more than scrolling thru a list, not that I hate preset banks but I just enjoy this as I'm not a great sound designer haha

Ah you got it, well done!

Those patches are useful. I've got the original patch book here somewhere that came with my hardware, but there's a good selection there. Nice one.

Oh man I bet that original patch book has some gems in it!
And yup I got it, and all I've done since that moment is Jam around with it.... It's character just resonates with me so much I can't get away from it... Might have to end up getting the hardware some day

Fun! And sooo old school 😃🕹🎚🎛

  • Nice find @reasOne!

You can float Safari over iMS-20 in the sidebar, and zoom in to the cards to be able to walk through them without flipping back and forth.

  • what does connecting the clock to the cutoff freq do? cant do that in gadget...

  • I'm enjoying iMS-20 as well. I cna't believe I waited so long to get this...but....I wanted only synths that connected to gadget. Maybe Old School but the sounds it makes is so much more fresh and modern than some of the newer synths out today. iMS-20 really stands the test of time.

  • I absolutely love it and wish it was universal but it is incredibly inspiring to play on

  • Also enjoying it a lot after 2 days! Just for bass sounds alone it's worth it

  • This guy has made magic!!

It works with gadget on iPhone at least! Wouldn't mind a stand alone for iPhone but im content

  • My only complaint with iMS20 is that preset sounds I make and save in the mAin app are not transfered to the Gadget version. The think I like about iWavestaion is that I can create a sound in the main synth for later use in the Gadget version. Korg please fix!

You can transfer them, you just have to press on the patch and then press the share button at the bottom of the screen to get the option to export to Gadget. :)

Good call, I was pulling the cards up on my phone but a side by side is a good idea

  • The app update mentioned Files.app support, any one seeing their presets appear in the app? Also, is there a way to import banks like other Korg apps?

Pretty sure it doesn’t do anything since it’s input to input
