iOS Minilogue?
Is there anything like the Korg Minilogue on iOS?
Comments
Yes, Groove Rider. The two-oscillator configurations are "hidden" in the waveform selection.
Actually it's more like sixteen 4-voice polyphonic Minilogues simultaneously, with many more filter types.
If you want great sound and the primary grey/black looks of a Minilogue, check out Zeeon by Beepstreet Interactive.
very cool I have groove rider so I will check that out. And beepstreet as well. Thank you
Yup, Zeeon kept me from getting a Minilogue, but maybe not Minilogue XD.
Zeeon is fantastic too. IMHO it's far above what the Minilogue can do, both in sonic quality and in features.
Learning how to use Groove Rider can take quite some time, it's a very deep app with an insane synthesis engine, its (Serum) wavetable oscillator can easily replace the minilogue xd's new multi-engine VPM. Plus a realtime and step sequencer that can have different modulation values on each step, sample import and slicing so you can have 16 tracks with up to 16 slices on each if you want and it can be played from external apps or MIDI gear and even run in tight sync with a hardware sequencer. It started as an electribe re-incarnation but it turned out to be much more than that.
Another vote for Zeeon, but much more powerful in different ways.
Zeeon is better than a Minilogue in every way other than being a piece of hardware. It's more versatile, has hundreds of more modulation options and possibilities, and most importantly, it sounds so much better. Take just the raw sawtooth wave for example, or the Zeeon filters (I don't know how Korg messed up the filter and resonance so badly), etc., Etc
I advise against the spending $500 on a Minilogue, no matter what level of musician you are or how badly you want an affordable polysynth. I was one of the latter and am disappointed by it no matter how many times I've tried.
