Is it possible to set the loop length when recording in AUM?
I am thinking that this is probably something it can do- but I have never known how to do it? Like if I only want it to record 8 bars then stop automatically. Is it possible?

Sort of. You can set the “sync quantum” to 8 bars (its in the metronome settings). You still need to hit stop within the quantum, but it will stop recording when it reaches the end.
OK thanks- I know the groove you are talking about- I was hoping that I could pre- set it to avoid having to jump back and forward to it while I am twiddling. Cheers.
