Simple app to just record MIDI jams

  • Xequence is the best for this. Yes not AU but honestly I love it in standalone and don't see much bonus with AU except for timing/sync.

  • My whole setup is oriented in AUM, so when i'm jamming i want quickly get a window of an app and twist things or record something. Using 2-3 standalone apps and switching between them is pain in the ass for live acting, at least for me. Xequence is obviously great for arranging whole multi channel track, i guess ;)

  • Xequence2 i would say, or cubasis3

    Refreshing this topic!

i tried some of these apps from this topic, Xequence is nice on paper but not auv3.

If anything has changed in the app market? New sweet apps for quick, simple recording 4 or more bar MIDI loops?

Or i have to wait for Atom 2 for that? :#

LK can do what you want.

Photon can record and export MIDI and is an AU. It's u.i. is a little fiddly, but it works well for this purpose. It captures all midi and handles multichannel input.

It doesn't capture sustain cc correctly. Dev says he is working on a fix

Can you explain more. Before posting yesterday, I made several recordings using the sustain pedal and what was recorded and played back was exactly what I played .

Is there some situation you can describe where it doesn't work?

State saving (AUM) and a ‘return’ button would be nice, too..

Yes, it’s the best solution, I think..
