What are you working on right now?
I've been quieter than previously on this forum for quite a while, however I have been no less busy with music (a reverse correlation, in fact!). Thinking about this has made me curious as to what others here are up to these days? Any big projects in the works? Awesome achievements? Personal milestones? Musical meanderings?!?
Personally, I've been heavily involved in prep for an upcoming festival concert in May (https://algomech.com/2019/). It's going to be by far the coolest event that I've performed at in a while and I'm fully energised for it!! I'm going down a shamanistic Psytrance influenced musical direction for this one, since the event is an 'algo-rave'!
Have a look at the soundcheck/debug script that I've been working on today -- I'm sitting mesmerised here by flashing pads and automated parameters!
Plenty more musical clips will follow in the run up to the event!!

Mmm cool stuff. I wish I had the marbles for it.
I am just playing around with the usual combination of apps waiting for a certain oft mentioned updated so that I can finish off certain sketches. I think this is the year of the breakthrough app for... oh hell, its NS2 audio tracks! Once I have that my iOS life will be complete. I swear! I swear God! For real this time!
Looking for a piece of hardware or hybrid for 1 shots and stabs or other pitch mod playable goodness
Problem is not many options
May go hybrid w Maschine or Model
Digitone skills are getting to good place
Have some set ideas I am ironing out details
Been concentrated on live performances skills 75% play/25%DJ
As well as refining sample libraries and catalogs prior to putting new EP together
Great stuff Oscar congrats
You have been grinding long and hard w me cuz!
Mad props
So just being me
After the audio
What is your goal for you music brother?
No wrong answer of course
Just wondering
I have a bunch of NS2 sketches that I am very happy with. I made about thirty and tossed half. Normally the ratio is far leaner with one in five being worth continuing. But somehow this time it is popping clear and I want to put them all into a long continuous mix. More will likely come and go over time but when I listen to them they work well as a unit and the theme is pretty clear to me. It is by no means groundbreaking or avant garde but just my take on a scifi spaceport/spacebar/90s Warp Records/B12/FSOL/ORB sort of thing with more glitch and some beats, but atmospheric yet 'quirky' (an excuse for poor composition
) and electronic 'jazzy' (knowing dick all about jazz). Retro future nostalgia inspired by 1970s SF book covers tinged with psychedelic overtones that I have become obsessed with, despite not being much of a reader, then or now.
I guess I can/should go another four months or so on it before really feeling the audio tracks itch (especially since now I have a Pro 10.5 to fill things out) but dammit I have some audio track ideas I really want to hit it with. Since NS2 came out I tried twice to get back into BM3 and finish off my older BM3 sketches there with the 'new' Pro 10.5 but too often they feel like they need saving or fixing whereas the NS2 ones just want to naturally grow and don't feel like they are hobbling along. The workflow being so much smoother and easy I find the mood of the tracks are lighter and more inviting. My 20s angst phase is over. BM3 would have suited my clunkier, noisier, messier phase.
Anyway, when audio tracks in NS2 comes, I want to compliment the more structured and quantized sketches I have with more loosely overdubbed stream of consciousness jams. This is always my favorite stuff. I don't like my full up 'programmed' stuff or my pure loosey goosey jammy stuff but when I merge the two I get quite happy and want to share the results. The only place I have managed this is in the past on desktop but to hell with that desk. I can't wait to do these two words efficiently in one app.
Nothing since months!
That’s life.
No worries.there is a time for everything.
I’ve got an NS2 tune 70% complete, but haven’t worked on it for over a month. Too much work + life stuff going on late into the day. The last 30% is mixing and automation which = tedium so I have to really be amp’d up to finish. My head and eyes are so drained after looking at a screen all day it’s hard to listen to frequency’s at night and do a good job. It takes me forever to say its finished because I don’t care about the number of songs I finish, just that they are done to the best of my ability when I never want listen to them again
