Korg Koassilator pro
Quick question. Has anybody used a Korg Koassilator pro or pro plus as a midi controller for the ipad? It seems that the USB is not class compliant but it has hardware midi ports.
The Koassilator looks fun and having an xy pad play some synths would be awesome.

What about the nanopad xy pad? Can it be set up similar to a Koassilator to play a synth with it? Or control the xy on animoog?
I actually got a nanopad2 delivered today. I bought it for using to play drums and was pleasantly surprised to find out what else I can do with it. The xy pad can indeed be used to play synths, you just hit the touch scale button and it works the way I think Kaossilator works (dragging finger left to right plays the scale on the xy pad?)
The other pads are assigned to notes too so when not in scale mode you can use them to play notes and the xy pad for mod/pitch. It works well with Animoog in scale mode but I think the mod/pitch needs to be mapped coz the xy pad didn't make much difference when not in scale mode, maybe just the preset I chose - have only had a chance to play with it for 1 hour so haven't quite got to grips with it yet or tested it properly on all my apps. Seems to be an excellent piece of kit
Thanks the nanopad looks promising.
My next question is whether or not the padKontrol xy pad would work the same as the xy pad on the nanopad as far as touch scale? I ask that because I have seen them on craigslist for as low as $50.
I really thought they'd released a iKaoscilator Pro when I saw this thread at first. Was kinda pumped because that app has a lot of potential.
Yea that would be awesome.
I've never used the padKONTROL but if you have a look on YouTube your bound to find someone doing it if it's possible. Looks like a nice piece of kit too. I'm not very clued up on midi and mapping but you might be able to set it up it so the roll function plays a scale. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could confirm that
