Best iOS DAW for MPE
I’m looking to start recording some ideas when not at home using my iPad Pro and Roli Seaboard. I’ve checked out garage band and became a bit frustrated with its lack of ability to edit the recorded mpe tracks in full so when nanostudio2 went on sale this weekend I snapped it up. Certainly a great daw but not really now compatible at the moment.
So what would be the best options and what are the pros and cons of mpe recording in the various ones that support it? Searching in the forums and on google not really giving solid answers.

Unless it’s been adjusted the MPE keyboard in Cubasis is only available with Roli Noise right?
KB-1 keyboard suite has an MPE keyboard, I’ve never actually tried recording anything with it though for that purpose.
Thanks. I’ll check out cubasis.
KB-1 has strange pitchbend range. I could not set it up correctly.
Cubasis can record GeoShred and iFretless Bass MIDI.
I got Kb1 to experiment, but am falling short connecting it up to Cubasis. Can someone walk me thru the routing steps, please? I'd especially like to try SwarPlug on it. @MobileMusic, can you help?
Add it to Midi Effects, Which is below insert affects and send a fax on the left, on a midi track
Siri... lol
1) Add KB-1 as a MIDI effect from the sidebar.
2) You might want to enable
MIDI THRU
as well, so you can still use Cubasis' internal keyboard.I guess you got a solution to make KB-1 work in Cubasis. I tried KB-1 before but could not get it to produce vibratos like GB does on swiping up the keys and its effect was not much. Did not have time to contact the dev. I'll retry this app.
You can use SwarPlug without KB-1 too with just Cubasis keyboard or SwarPlug keyboard. SwarPlug AU has export option to copy a loop (with length options) into Cubasis as MIDI which you can edit after pasting into Cubasis. But SwarPlug v3 is like a basic player of presets without much control exposed for sound design. They are planning to port their desktop v4 to iOS this year with more controls.
Also, GeoShred AU was supposed to enhance their app to display dynamic animations in playback mode as they confirmed they have all the finger movement data available to reproduce those finger movement dynamic animations. Hope iFreless Bass AU also does dynamic animations (I'll contact the dev).
Ah, midi effect, not as an instrument. Thank you @audiobussy and @blakkaz Thanks @MobileMusic, but playing in Cubasis SP is not mph, correct? I haven’t tried yet, but I am hoping KB-1 will make that bansari sing.
I also have this question so I tried to fix what I think are a type and an acronym requiring
extra context to get a precise Q&A text.
