Split Loopy HD inputs and outputsinto two different channels.

Hi there, I just discovered that Loopy is the best loop station ever made, It make ridicolous any other hardware loop station that I tried or I was considering to buying: Boomerang III, EHX 2880/45000, boss Rc, pigronix infinity etc.
Is it possible to split the input and output in two different channel?
For example in the channel one I plug my synth apps via audiobus and send them into my monitor speakers or in keyboard amp in the other channel I plug my guitar and I send it into my guitar amp. In this way I can have guitar loops into my amp and keyboard or other software loops into monitor speakers.
It is possible?

PS: I fuckin' love loopy <3 :'D

  • I love the app too. You might be able to do this just by panning each Loopy track hard left or right. Then you can decide what to do with the output as you like.

Pan your guitar loops left and other apps right.... seems like it should work but I have not tried it. In this scenario, choose "mic" as an audiobus input so that Loopy can record your guitar as a stereo input, but really only getting the left channel from your guitar. This might only work if you have a stereo audio interface going into your iPad.

  • How can I pan my loops?

Are you talking about multi-output setups with hardware interfaces? We're looking into that.

Long press one loop and then you should be able to see the different additional options.

Yes, I'd like to record guitar into left channel and virtual instruments into right channel, send the left channel into my amp and the right channel into monitor speakers.

I should try to pan the tracks before trying to record anything, thank you!

Can I assign the drum pads of my master keyboard to all the tracks? For example, if a press a drum pad i can select or activate a track.

this should be easy to set up. Go into Loopy>settings>MIDI>Control Inputs>choose your keyboard>tap on the arrow for MIDI bindings>add binding

  • and while you are in settings tap on "? Help" Then take a look at the tutorials. They are very well done.

  • Yes, go to the settings page and choose midi bindings. There is a list there for all sorts of stuff like mute/record/select track...

All midi bindings can take effect on either a specific track or the currently selected track.

If you have 16 pads you might try a set up like pads 1-12 select a track, 13-16 record, mute or clear and rerecord the selected track. There are a lot of different ways to set this up, really depends on how you're working.

You can also assign a slider to pan or volume.

  • @hmtx sniped me!

  • Ok, thank you for your help! Now it works perfectly :D

  • I splitted the pan of the loops in two different channels, left for guitar and right for audiobus apps. When I am playing guitar or apps the signal is stereo (left and right), only when the loops are recorded the signal became mono (left or right). :/
