Weird lag/skipping with iPad Pro when app switching with Xequence, Patterning 2, and Auria Pro

I’m using a 2nd generation iPad Pro 12.9” and running a Xequence MIDI region with Patterning 2 as the connected instrument. When I initially start up Xequence and push play, the Patterning 2 drums will play perfectly fine. However, once I switch to Patterning 2 to adjust anything and then return back to Xequence, when I push play the drums seem to get off timing and then speed back up to get on timing. It’s as if it lags and then makes up for it by speeding back up again. The tempo is never constant due to this pushing/pulling. This also happens with any synths I use, specifically Troublemaker and Poison 202.

The odd thing is that this weird lagging/makup is intermittent. Sometimes it doesn’t happen, other times it just won’t go away until I restart the iPad.

This same bug also occurs when I use Auria Pro. However, with AP, I don’t even need to switch out and it sometimes starts skipping and lagging when I have a section looped.

Has this happened to anyone else? This bug, combined with the touch screen freezing bug that Apple has never addressed, has me seriously thinking about trading my Pro in for the latest iPad Air, though I’m really gonna miss the extra screen real estate ☹️
