FR for AudioBus3 + AUM: remote control-surface mode for multiple iPad operation

This feature could be for either AB or AUM - or both - depending on who "bites"

Adding multiple iOS device support- in the form of a remote sync and control option ( IAP?)

iPads are getting cheap to buy second hand.

Imagine being able to use one iPad to host synths and having one of those apps always running in foreground while the other iPad shows Audiobus faders controlling the levels of those synths.

All synchronised across WiFi or usb.

It’s a way also of gaining extra DSP resource by sharing load across two iPads.

For live performance situations being able to use several iOS devices and have each only showing mostly one screen , is much better than flipping apps and views

Reason in my thinking is that with the recent good value Air 3 out there I think there’s going to be many people who own more than one iPad or even considering buying a second hand one.

Also - like TouchAble - it would be cool to be able to assign one or more faders in AB3 or AUM to reflect the state and control a fader in Ableton.

Imagine one iPad running AB3 +synths drum machines etc, Ableton running clips and a second iPad running AB3 in remote controller mode with faders for both the channels on AB3 in the other iPad AND in Ableton!

Also the idea of VCA fader functionality starts to make more sense once one has several iPads running your app in sync

  • I would love this. I'm using use of multiple iPads as well. Ableton Link covers audio sync. Remote Control that doesn't require manual MIDI cc mappings would greatly enhance workflow. My setup relegates 1 iPad for sequencing and midi control, 1 for synths and 1 for drums.
