Essential apps for recording metal/hard rock?

What are essential apps for recording on your iPad?

Audio interface- amp kit hd, irig had, apple apogee jam
Daw-auria, GarageBand, cubasis
Guitar- jamup/bias, amp kit, amplitude

Bass- I pitch shift my guitar using pitch shift in amp kit , or I use midi guitar to trigger midi notes on guitar using GarageBand or ifretlass
Drums - hd drums, drumbeats or session band rock(drums only)
Master- audio mastering

What else do you need for recording and are there better options for what I have listed so far?

  • I would add convolution reverb in Auria and load some guitar cab impulse responses to create some extra punch. I would use either Thumbjam's pitch detection (mono) and a bass instrument or Midi Guitar or Midimorphosis (both poly) to trigger Thumbjam or iFretless Bass. As for drums, I think Drumjam is perfect. It's also cool to trigger some Thor or iSEM for bass or squealing goodness.

  • The drum sampler / sequence in caustic is great for programming some double bass drum madness and blast beat metal drums with the right samples and you can use the vocoder ivoxel to get some gnarly distorted vocals with the noise filter as a source. The pitch shifter whammy in jamup is excellent as well for harmonized guitar and squealing pitched up solos.
