Audio through no longer supported?

I've noticed with the latest update that audio through is no longer working. I used to open audiobus, choose mic input and speaker output and I would be able to play external sources through an Apogee jam and then through audiobus. Now, when I do so, there is no sound. Could this be a bug or is this just no longer possible?

  • Actually this is no longer possible, but it's a security measure that we took so people wouldn't create a feedback by just connecting the mic and speaker. What I don't get is why you would even need Audiobus in the scenario you mention. Is an audio app necessary for the Jam to work?

@sebastian thanks for the quick response! It's not really necessary, no. Sometimes I would use this scenario to work with non compatible apps. For example, audio through would allow me to monitor what I was doing when using Werkbench. I discovered I just need to open pretty much any app in Audiobus and monitoring will work. So, no biggie. Just wanted to confirm so I could stop trying it over and over!

Ps. yes an app needs to be open for the Jam to work in a monitoring situation.

So you've opened Audiobus because you wanted to have a second app that constantly monitors the audio because - for example - Werkbench sometimes mutes the audio coming through the Apogee Jam in some scenarios.
If I'm correct - would you like to Audiobus to behave in the same way like before?

Sorry if I sound a little slow, just trying to make sure I understand 100%.

  • Exactly. But if that's not possible I don't really mind. I've found I can open pretty much any app in audiobus and monitoring will begin. So no biggie.

  • Ok, we'll keep it like this then. Thank you!
