First track in Cubasis, finally doing something with my Patterning2 experiments.

I gotta say, ole Steinberg, they did a pretty good job with it!

I ran Patterning2 as 8 separate tracks into Cube, had fun with Cubasis' internal automation, used a ton of AU fx and a couple AU synths (Ripplemaker and SynthmasterOne).

I can work with this...

Yeah, P2 with the right probability amount per step is SO much more efficient than writing out your hht and snare variations. And the visualization of decay etc just works for my brain...

As for Cubasis, it took a bit to get used to it, lots of features I'm used to missing as a daw, but I am never one to shy away from limitations. There are too many options in digital world as it is. I just like that I have enough to make a decent sounding mix without having to wrap my brain around Auria, which isn't my style of tracking. Someday when I'm recording a band Auria will be rad, but for techno, Cubasis seems like a good go-to.

I'm going to wring as much as i can out of just a couple synths, slowly work my way through the ridiculous amount of them. There were two Ripplemaker tracks, which is appropriate, because I sold my 0-coast to buy my first ipad. Love that app, better than the synth actually (shhh, only tell Bram).

  • My O Coast sitting on it's box unused. :D

Patterning 2 just works for my brain too. I'm love/hate with Cubasis but I get things done in there.

cool track. it's got a really interesting clockwork oddity for me.

Haha. So true. Every time I start to lust after the O-Coast I have to remind myself that I can do all that stuff already (might still ask Santa for a Volca Modular, perhaps, maybe).

    Nice track.

  • Rad. so this is just P2, ripplemaker and synthmaster one? impressive. Kinda reminds me of Two Lone Swordsmen or Mouse on Mars
