What do you guys master with?
Man, I keep meaning to ask you this, and end distracted by other apps and the like. Mainly for iOS I only have Final Touch, and I’m really wondering how that stacks up against other solutions? I’m not up to speed to the degree that I can just line up and tweak sound shaping modules by hand, even on pc, I rely solely on premade presets to shape the final product, as opposed to having the skills to shape every nuance separately, until everything is just right, I’m slowly getting there, but not quite there yet. So, I’m mainly interested in working with mastering apps that have built in presets, instead of separately tweaking every little thing. How do the 4Pockets.com packages stack up? Are they miles ahead of something like Final Touch? Thank you very much in advance for any and all replies, I appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction, as I’m still pretty much just fumbling my way around iOS.

Lurssen Mastering Console is a preset type mastering app. You may also want to look into Grand Finale by Klevgrand. A number of people will also discuss The FabFilter plugins in Auria Pro, but that seems to be more of a tweaker’s delight with more control
Thank you very much, I will check them all out, however, because I’m getting on so well with Auria Pro, it may be time to pull up my big boy pants, and look into the Auria FabFilter offerings, as I’ve been very lazy in a sense, I work to make the best compositions as I’m currently able, only to cop out in lazyness, with paint by numbers mastering processes, quite shameful TBH, and thank you for recommending the FabFilter option, as ATM, it’s what I’m interested in the most.
Pro L2 through Auria Pro for me.
So much tweakability !
Thank you, I believe the FabFilter apparatus in AP is the next logical step for myself, as I’m getting on with Auria Pro wonderfully, really was not expecting to be able to just dive in head first, without being completely overwhelmed.
When I use Auria, it’s everything Fabfilter of course. Pro-C, Q, MB, L2 ya baby!
When I use Cubasis, I get it pretty great with the Waves Q10 and L1, then add a little niceness with Grand Finale. I’ve used Final Touch and Audio Mastering before, and they are very very good, but I’m more comfortable with how I do it now.
Cubasis and Waves plug-in IAP currently
With the recent updates to Auria Pro, I’m starting to wonder if it was redundant to get Cubasis as well. I haven’t gotten around to using Cubasis yet, and am very curious about what I could do in it that I cannot do in Auria Pro. However, even more so than that, what is really important to me, is what is actually easier, or more to the point, what aspects of Cubasis could improve my workflow? I have a feeling that the answer is that it’s mostly a matter of personal taste, but from what others have mentioned about Cubasis, what it sounds like to me, is that in certain respects, it has the potential to be a more efficient workflow, especially to someone like myself, who at the end of the day, is a “simpleton”.
I have not yet gotten much of the FabFilter add ons, however, I’m very impressed with the ones that come stock with Auria Pro, and when that time comes around, where I actually have money that I can spend, I’m very excited about exploring what the FabFilter, especially the plugins, have to offer. I did get the cheapest, smallest filter they offer, and even though I have Sugar Bytes Wow Filterbox, and Turnado, appears to be something I’ll actually use. I’m really into filters more than anything else. That’s what I really dig about Native Instruments’ Massive synth for desktop, and laptops, the filtering options are truly superb. Thank you very much for the reply, I appreciate it!
Auria - powerful app (high learning curve)
Cubasis - easy to use app
GarageBand - fun app
People prefer Auria for audio-intensive work/mastering and Cubasis for MIDI-intensive work. It doesn’t hurt to have both. You won’t regret buying Cubasis and if you don’t like it or if it doesn’t meet your needs, you can request a refund. These DAW apps will have more or less the same features in future like they are on desktop. My idea is to get what suits my needs and personality and get good at using it.. Steinberg is a YAMAHA company. Unfortunately, Roland is not visible on iOS for all their great hardware.
If you are creating music videos with screen recording, Cubasis looks more beautiful hands down with its high quality. Check mine -

Cheers!
It depends on your skill level. But if you’re like me and usually end up feeling like you do more harm than good mastering, then I recommend Grand Finale. I feel like I always get a much improved result by flipping through a few presets, and then adjusting a just few things if anything sounds off, or if by experimenting it improves things.
Neither my mastering skills nor my music warrant purchasing the FabFilter plugins. Maybe someday, but for now I’m happy with Grand Finale.
The link you posted didn’t work on my iPhone, but I typed youtube.com/MobileMusic into safari, and if that’s your channel, although I only listened for a few minutes,( because I’m working on something), but what I heard was really good and I subscribed. If that’s your channel, your stuff is pretty awesome! When I’m done working tonight, I’m going to listen to it while I’m falling asleep, just really relaxing music, I really dig it. If you have a SoundCloud account, and you post the link, and if I have your permission, I’ll repost some of your tracks on my SoundCloud account. I’ll tell you something that you may find amusing, if it’s possible to bring other apps into Garage Band, and play/record them, since 2014, I have never been able to figure out how, lol. I am however, absolutely shocked at how easy it was for me to start catching on to how easy it is to work inside of Auria Pro, just a couple of hiccups at first, but now it feels like it’s all a downhill ride, and I’m just cruising along.
Yep, that’s my channel. If I post the full link to channel page here including http, it tries to embed as a video which is a glitch.

Thank you very much for posting your SoundCloud link, you legitimately, and for real, a very talented and accomplished musician. I’m listening to “Shine on you crazy diamond” right now, it’s 100% baddass! I play a little, but nothing like that, and there’s no way I could pull myself together enough to do a live performance. My Mother is pretty old, just turned 90, and when she passes, I would love to be able to play a pretty song, or two at her funeral, but I don’t think I can pull it off, and I don’t want to be a horrible side show at a somber event. I hope, if it’s your wish to, that you perform professionally, because you’re absolutely at that level. I don’t know what language it is, but the female vocalist on the song that just came up is really good.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond is an incomplete project on GB, NS1, Sunrizer, Alchemy Mobile on iPad mini 1 that was too small for my fingers. GB has no keyboard animations. I recorded it years ago without any rehearsal with no tempo or time signature setup when I first got into DAW apps, the drums are out of sync and there was no screen recording. I have plans to redo it on Cubasis this year and polish it to perfection and a ton of other Hollywood song projects. iOS Screen Recording, AUs and LumaFusion have changed a lot for creating music videos all on the device using just an iPad and headphones.
I’m gonna do my best to keep on eye on you, so maybe I’ll learn a few things along the way. I’m pretty self absorbed and really focused on doing my own thing, but when I come up for air I learn a lot from listening to other musicians. When I was a kid, another musician who was much older told me to always try and surround yourself with musicians who are better than me, in order to learn and improve, it’s some of the best advice I ever got.
