Bad news @d4d0ug - according to early reports on iOS13 it seems even Apple agrees with Drake...

  • Grid lines...
    Who needs those senseless markings?

  • I kind of like dark backgrounds, but I have fairly sensitive eyes to bright light so I think that’s the main reason why. I know I’m in the minority here haha.

  • +1 for the dark backgrounds

  • +1 for bright.

Ink on paper is more comfortable for me to read than chalk on a blackboard. The exception is when it’s very dark in the room.

iOS Settings > General > Acessibility > Accesibility Shortcuts

    enable "smart invert colors"

after this, you can enable/disable invert mode by tripple tap on home button

it's not perfect, but in many cases (especially for dark piano roll) it useable...

I prefer dark backgrounds, but get extremely frustrated with too low (IMO) contrast on grids. Even Atom bigs me a bit.

  • If devs go for a fixed background it should not be extreme I.e. dark grey as opposed to black and light grey as opposed to white. Having said that I absolutely love it when I get a RGB palette so I can choose my background and foreground colours. It smacks of old computing times but works best for me. Of course it will never happen.

    Great tip, thanks.

There seems to be a ‘trend’ of black backgrounds and feint gridline on piano rolls.

I’m curious, does anyone else struggle with these?

I struggle lining things up and it generally makes my brain ache. Maybe I need an eye check!

I’ve contacted devs for Fugue Machine, Atom and Stagelight requesting more contrasting gridlines or ‘light modes’.
