LiveFX
I just discovered liveFX. I got the free version to try it out. It seems pretty cool and has a lot of potential for remixing a live set using loopy. I especially like the delay and the loop effects.
Is this the only app if it's kind or are there others that are similar.
Just want to weigh my options.

Turnado, EchoPad, WOW, Swoopster, AUFX Space, AUFX Dub, AUFX PeakQ, Moog Filtertron.
Turnado is closest to LiveFX but gives you a lot more
Definitely would consider all those Doug mentioned. As fun as Live FX's interface is, I'd suggest Turnado for an overall broad spectrum of mangling. And as for Echopad and AUFX series... You don't find better value for money as easily. They sound great.
Would these apps compare to the Korg KP3? Never used one but have seen them on Craigslist for around $100.
I guess the problem with an external unit like the KP3 would be not being able to put it in the effects slot.
Forget paying big bucks for hardware. You've got an AB-equipped iPad now!
I have a kp3 and love it but it is a different sort of animal really. You can use the KP3 as a midi controller however although I have not done this yet. I do recording on a hardware unit and in my PC also and the KP3 is most excellent to run your ipad through and then into another recording unit of some sort. I like using the filters and reverb with the x/y pad a lot. While the sampling times are short in it's four assigned slots, you can really do some nice work with them to fatten up your mixes and the sampling process within the KP3 is very quick and easy. Good for overdubs also. I spent some time running sunrizer and Alchemy through the KP3 and it sounded great.
Nuts... That's another app I have to buy......and wow...thank Doug for the recommendation ... Somehow missed that on
I'd have to echo (pun intended) Tritonman's sentiments. KP3 is going to be more functional to you as an X/Y MIDI controller than an actual effects processor with an iOS rig. I use a KP3 as a MIDI controller, it's worth it for Animoog alone...
Turnado is far and away the best effects unit I've tried on an iOS device. Recommend it very highly. It's lightyears more powerful than a KP3 in the effects department.
Thanks everyone. Does turnado have midi learn? Could I use the X/Y pad on a nanoPad to control it?
Yes, it has MIDI learn, so the nanoPad should work fine.
I will most likely be switching to Turnado, but before doing so, is anyone having issues with LiveFx not filtering all the sound being sent through it? To further describe the issue, It seems as if it is only filtering 75% of the sound being sent through it! It's driving me crazy!!! Before I spend more money on other filters I need to know if this is Audiobus, LiveFX, or just me overlooking something.
Just a heads up, I am running the free version of Audiobus.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
@o0Ill0o
Make sure FX Depth slider on the left is set to 100%
There's a free version of Audiobus?
Assuming he meant the free version of LiveFX.
Yes just joking
Am i really that stupid or is there no way to record movements of the XY fields of Turnado??That is what i reall like about LiveFX.Its so damn easy to record some cool stuff.Seems abandoned unfortunately...
@Crabman
yeap, it seems LiveFX is abandoned.
But it's successor is on the way: FLUX:FX
Elephant Candy devs are part of this project
but why is flux fx out being used at shows or whatever but taking so long to be released?
I really like Live FX – it was one of the first apps which made my KP3 redundant.
I've emailed Elephantcandy to ask if there are any future updates planned.

So did I. He said they are waiting for ios8 launch, then will bring out the update.

Because it's still in beta...
Wasn't the release date a few days ago, or this week? Or that was the video demo deadline?
Not at all, a couple of months ago they estimated it would be out by the end of August, but they never announced an actual release date.
Ok. Thank you. I'm anxious to see the 'suite'.
As some already mencioned it's nice to have light and powerful apps like the AUFX series and "the competition".
However I feel like it would be a new peace of mind if I could concentrate the fx in one single app.(although I seriously doubt that that happens as we are always trying to push the limits and it's never enough)
Hoping the new app's actual effects sound better than LiveFX. I don't expect the individual effects to equal the stand alone aufx/holderness apps but I never felt I got usable sounds out of LiveFX.
I still hoping for the equivalent to an Alesis Quadraverb app - a set of usable bread and butter effects with understandbly limited parameters that sounds good or good enough. I'll whip out the big guns when a particular effect really matters. Maybe that isn't possible yet on iOS if I also want to run other apps, I dunno. The Quadraverb still sounds good to my ears and sold for < $200 in the early 90s so I'm hoping we're there, processor wise.
To be fair to LiveFX, I don't think the individual effects in Turnado sound all that wonderful either. But what it lacks in pure sonics it makes up with swagger.
Ok, it's official. I'm a spoiled brat.
I don't think the sonic quality of an individual effect is quite as important with something like Turnado or FluxFX, since there are probably a bunch of crazy modulations going on at the same time. Sure, you want a flanger to be recognizably flangey, but it seems there's a bit more leeway with these type of multi effect apps.
Another option for an effect suite is something like ToneStack, even if you don't care about the amp sims.
Sorry couldn't resist for those who don't have much idea of what you guys are talking about...
With you @zymos. Love Turnado and am hoping to love Flux. I think Tonestack sounds great but have a hard enough time setting up stereo effects chains in it that I've hardly dug into the app. For mono/guitar stuff, I'm already happy enough with JamUp and the boilerplates I've built there.
I should have mentioned that part of why I still use my Quadraverb 2 is that it's stereo by default. Indeed, it's two stereo channels and you can break it up into either four mono, two mono + one stereo or two stereo effects. Or a single stereo effect with double the processing power for better reverbs and the like.
Anyway, stereo by default is key. So, yeah, really looking forward to/hopeful about Flux.

Anybody?
I don't know Turnado that well and only use it in a most straight forward of forms only altering effect settings and saving them so can't help you there @Crabman.
