My first long-form iPad jam in AUM
I have been loving the iPad since I got it a few months ago. I'm finding it insanely inspiring and the portability means I can work anywhere that I want. This is my first long-form jam with the tablet.
I'm running everything in AUM with sequencing by Fugue Machine, Atom Piano Roll, and Rozeta Arpeggiator. The synths are Strng, E-l-s-a, and Zeeon. The FX include Kosmonaut, Dubstion, EOS, Quatromod, Roughrider, and LRC5. I'm outputting the audio using the Zoom U24 soundcard that's patched into my main studio desk.
The biggest roadblock I've run into so far is a good way to program drums. I think I need an AU sampler to just host the sounds. Patterning2 is great, but it's difficult to switch quickly back and forth between apps when trying to juggle all the other parts.

Use a MIDI controller
Nice production.
Eventually, maybe. I kind of like the idea of staying in the pad (I guess it's no longer a box) for these sometimes.
Very nice. Lovely little tune, that.
Thanks!
Best bet for drums is something small like Roli. Pads are way more expressive than glass.
For straight programming try the new Octa thing
I mean more for needing a good sample host in AU. I programmed these in Atom.
This is good dude!
Also with patterning, you can chain your patterns and arrange them to play in any order you want , that's the way to go, takes more planning and maybe having a blank pattern thrown in every now n then, but it is flawless
Nice track!
For MIDI control in-the-pad, you could use Rozeta XY, mapped to some of the parameters of Patterning (or anything else).
Also, for transport controls and pattern switching, I would suggest hosting Patterning in Audiobus. That way you can use the Audiobus slide-over panel for remote control of some IAA apps.
Gotcha. I haven't picked up AB yet as AUM has been great. I guess I should check it out eventually.
