AUM Undo?

I was just noodling around and got a nice little groove going, mainly to have a mess with FabFilter's Limiter, which I've just purchased. I went to press 'save' but instead pressed 'clear' by accident. Two problems with this, as far as I can see. First, there should be a way of undoing things to save one from losing sanity. I'm really narked that I just lost what I was doing and am so pissed off I won't be attempting it again tonight. Second, surely the 'clear' button shouldn't be placed right next to the 'save' button? Having it placed in such close proximity - and adding to this by not having any way to undo a disaster - makes using AUM a lot more fraught than it needs to be. I've gone from grooving away to nada in a split second, and now I'm off to YouTube to watch some rubbish to calm me down  . Please, please, please give us an easy undo button - and move that 'clear' button away from harm's way, please. Pretty please with a cheery on top?

If you press clear by mistake just press reload last session and you get it all back.

No, it's not loaded it. I didn't save the session for a while, and it's not saved it automatically.

Strange, i don’t have to save at all, if you press clear and after press reload session and it works. It will only load the last session obviously 🙂

  • yeah, the number of times I've accidentally deleted a channel complete with midi mappings and fx chains.. Undo would be nice

  • AUMdo!

    (sorry)

    Me like!

  • Or maybe just a good old modal asking you if you wish to save your unsaved session or really clear it. Also, I find saving in AUM pretty cumbersome - you are always asked if you wish to overwrite the existing project. Again, good old save and “save as” combo would help a lot...

  • I'm planning to add a confirmation step when tapping CLEAR. However, as already mentioned, when you tap CLEAR it actually does auto-save the session internally, so you can get it back by tapping "reload last session".

Please could you keep an option in Settings to keep the 1 tap Clear? (For those of us that prefer it). Many thanks, wishing you all the best 😺🎧🚀

agreed, i'm all for speed in music making and i'm against extra steps in design... IMO

Thanks. Sometimes the reload last season doesn’t work for me. It only opens to the last save, rather than to where I was actually at. Cheers.

    Good point - I agree.

Undo button, please. Reload last session doesn’t always work. Plus it’s using a shotgun to kill a fly.

recently I was listening to recordings I made inside AUM some years ago, and one piece was quite good. Because it was untitled I wanted to rename the file for export. Accidentally I swept the file all to the left and it was deleted.

I guess there is no way to bring this audio file back. If there's a way, I would like to know.

Edit: I was trying to recover that file with a PC tool, EaseUS MobiSaver, but it is specialised for photos and contacts. The audio file was not found. If someone has an idea, please post.

What app were you in when you deleted it? Did you check the recently deleted files list in Files app? If you were listening to a file in Audioshare, look in Audioshare's trash.

    Please do so.
Or at least don't place "Clear" right next to "Save".

I deleted the audio file in AUM by accident. It is not in the 'recently deleted' folder, and not in Audioshare's trash, unfortunately.
