Is there a future chance to be able to have an option of naming regions?😌🤗❤️❤️
    Like Intro, Verse, Chorus, Etc?

Was watching some tutorial videos for song structure and i really think this would be huge at least for me since i’m more of a visual person.

Please forgive me if this was asked before. Thank you for this most amazing app! 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️☝️😌

    Tip o’ the day...
Make a dummy track and move it to the top of the playlist. Now paint in clips at the lengths you want, and then name them as you would region labels.

Yep. This also has the added bonus that you select and loop those particular sections.

  • @Tones4Christ I see my invisible and unpaid support team already answered 😉 thanks! @wim @SpookyZoo

It's also in the FAQ though:

  • Thank you! Worked perfectly!

  • @SevenSystems airdrop of projects doesn’t seem to be working anymore. It says it’s sent, but nothing happens.

To save time because I know it’ll be asked...
    What version of iOS?

iPhone on 13.1 sending to iPad on iPadOS 13.1

  • Sorry - can’t test as I haven’t updated the iPad yet.

  • Same here; with Line6 VX fiasco, l’m staying put as everything is working great on ipad 12.4.1.

I just realised iPad had a different version of X2 so I updated. AirDrop still isn’t working.

Now on the iPad (pro 11 2018) I can’t press anything on the far right of the screen, which includes the play and done button.

  • @gregsmith thanks for reporting. I just checked and this is definitely a bug in iOS itself -- sharing via Airdrop doesn't even work directly from Apple's own Files app (i.e. with Xequence not running on either device). The "Dingdingdingding" tone is heard on the target device, but nothing happens as you said.

Should be reported to Apple... I'm leaving for the airport in a couple of hours and can't do it right now, so if you or anyone else would like to... :)

Could you send me a quick screenshot of the arranger screen on your iPad Pro 2018?

  • @gregsmith: I just tried with the current build (which is waiting for review by Apple) and I couldn't see any problems with tapping those buttons on the iPad 11" simulator (I don't have the actual device).

It might simply have been solved by building with a more recent development toolchain (much like the bugs in Patterning 2), so the problem will probably be fixed as soon as Apple approves the update, which should be tomorrow or Tuesday.

  • @gregsmith, just a follow-up: My simulator is still on iOS 13.0. Did this start to happen only on 13.1, or already since 13.0?

  • Anyone else seeing this problem?

I’m able to airdrop Audiobus presets so not everything is broken.

The right hand screen problem I’m not sure unfortunately as I’d already updated to 13.1 before updating X2 to the latest versh. It’s only happening on the latest version and only on my iPad (not iPhone)

Dunno if that helps at all!

Edit: just opened my iPad to get a screenshot and the play button and done buttons were working fine. I had just opened X2 on its own.

I then opened the AB preset and it stopped working. I’m pretty sure it’s got something to do with the AB switcher bar thing. Hiding it makes no difference so I might be wrong.

  • @gregsmith thanks for those details. Unfortunately, that will be extremely hard for me to test because I don't currently have access to an iPad Pro 11", and it is not possible to install 3rd party applications (like Audiobus) in the simulator.

@Michael, could you check on this?

  • Hi. Is there a way to change the countdown when xequence begins so it starts with a consistant countdown?

    Thanks.

  • Not sure it matters. Think its just a function of abelton link.

    Thanks.

Turn off Link. With Link enabled, X2 first waits for Link to hit a measure beginning, then starts the countdown (as it should). At least I assume that's the issue for you since I've never had any inconsistent count-in except when Link is enabled.

  • Thats cool. Noticed earlier it starts better without link. Does that probably mean the start/stop in audiobus bar wont work across apps without link? Was testing audio in the foreground and xequence in the background but can just switch app after any countdown/inconsistent countdown observed in X2.

  • Lets say you use Abelton link to sync hardware ( not start/stop ) Is it actually better then just setting bpm. Does link actually rectify any mistakes?

  • @SevenSystems thanks for all these awesome updates!❤️❤️❤️

I must sincerely admit though that i still find myself wishing for a half screen keyboard at times but not all the time. Specially when i’m trying to see visually where abouts i am in the loop to start playing. Not all the time i start my playing at the beginning of the loop or after the count in so having a visual cue is totally important for me.

I would be so grateful if you could consider this. If it takes way too much coding just for me, then don’t worry about it. But im grateful either way. 👍🏼🤗😌🙏☝️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hiya. I don’t presume you either have or intend to purchase this app. But ChordPolyPad works well in slide-over for this task. If you know what chords you’ll be using you can set them up quickly in CPP first.

Just a suggestion that may be helpful for the moment. :)

BTW this project isn’t a very good indication of the best use of Xequence. All those parts are simple and identical. Should be linked & looped etc.

  • Thanks! I do have it

I most often do similar: copy/paste or duplicate, mainly due to quickness of being able to re-arrange simply and easily. Sometimes I spend the time setting up what section should loop for how many times etc, but more often than not I take the opportunity to make slight/subtle changes in copied sections and all of a sudden they are not copies any longer, and it often (to my ears) sound better. :)

Yeah, the same. This project is just a quick demo, but I generally like setting up like this. For the reasons you mention, plus visually makes more sense for me than empty space and irregular length clips.

In addition, this way I can take advantage of the cool new 'MUTE Individual Clips' feature in Xequence2.

Hmm, strange! I'm afraid I don't have the hardware to test this either - it's working fine on my iPad Air 2, though, on 13.1. Anyone else seeing this?

    Same bug here. :(
    All devices on IOS 13.1.2.
I've tested to send from my iPhone 5 SE to an iPad pro 11, an iPad pro 1st gen, an iPad pro 2nd gen, same problem.
It says it is send, but nothing happening on the receiver.
It works fine if you share to a Mac (10.14.6 ) but from the Mac it can't be send back !

We might be talking about two different things there. I was referring to the right-hand side of the screen becoming unresponsive. What's your thing?

  • Oups, sorry missed this right-hand thing, I don't know what to check or where (I guess it's AB3)...Is there a screenshot to understand so I can test ?
I was talking about sharing a X2 project using Airdrop.
