Cool to see that all Kickstarter backers are going to receive the first module, the two capacitive strips and 8 buttons, free!
I backed this but have an Air now. I understand that the first form factor of the case wasn't designed to fit exactly with the new model but will I still be able to use it?
Buying hardware so closely fitting with an ipad is a little silly with a new ipad coming out every year. Unless you like holding on to your ipad for years.
According to videos I've seen, you'll still be able to use it, but not as a case.
@JMSexton - that is a good touch to offer that. That and the fact that most of us will be getting it at half the retail price (I went with the $99 tier) makes me feel pretty good about it still. Just hope it's all worth the wait.
Yea and even if it would fit you could still use a different stand/case for iPad because regardless it's still the lost compact portable keyboard there is, and I don't see that changing anytime soon...anything smaller would be very difficult play and design-wise. Also, all that they'd have to change for an iPad Air is the magnetic clip but otherwise the stand part still works, so I think they've made a pretty future safe design, as much as it can be without know Apples future plans.
It's likely to make me want to hang on to my iPad4 longer than I planned though.
