Agreed!!
...and a few editing functions I'm often missing:
Reverse, Level, Insert Silence, Copy/Paste selection.
Hmmmm. I did the same. Cuz you never know when you might need them!!!! LOL.
Guys Sweet Midi Player is actually really awesome! It’s free unless you pay the IAP but the free version has so much to offer! Download it and go to settings and see; export midi, even a built in Synth to playback your midi files from Xequence 2, I’m blown away at all that it offers. I also dropped like a two thousand midi files in its Files App folder and works like a charm, just touch the file and it auto plays! Just like I’m Cubasis.
I've never used a midi file haha I should try this...
So basically it has all the automation, velocity, volume, pattern information in the file and you just drop it on the piano roll and press play?
I’ll post one of the ones that I’m talking about on my DB and let you load it in SMP and the export it to X2. It works great and there are millions of free in the net! Literally and never run out of ideas or beats!

Never tried this one. Have any of you guys? From the BS-16i developer
Sweet Midi seems to be the one, but 15 bucks for the full version is maybe too much
Actually, I would prefer to keep my files in audioshare, as always, and from there audition them.
Guess I'll make a move to keep them in Xequence 2
I've got bs-16i since years and yes, you can use it as a sound engine but it's not made for previewing MIDI files (you can only load one file in setup, then exit setup, press play on the mixer page, then open settings again and browse to the MIDI file page...)
Audio Evolution has Sound Font and MIDI support as well but unfortunately it cannot load most MIDI files tried.
For now, Cubasis and Nanostudio 2 seem to be the best MIDI file importers for now.
I tried it but didn’t like it.
I believe he’s talking about a different app that the same maker has out...
Oops, you're right, sorry.
m16 looks like a fun MIDI file "analyzer" indeed.
From the description it's hard to tell how this works with a long list of MIDI files.
It's been a long time, but IIRC, I didn't care for it.
Another way to "manage" a huge MIDI library:
Pick two or three files randomly, extract random takes and be inspired
I don't have one.
I use several scales in the same key most of the time so I don't think I really utilize this aspect of music making.
I have a couple templates for Ableton but iOS is more a performance / sketch tool and don't save things due to memory for apps.
I am not fond of the "files" system so really avoid if possible.
Airdrop if anything but no often.
seeet Midi Player lets me host my entire library for free! Didn’t have to pay. Try it. I copied my folder into its folder and bam! All midis available to preview! That’s all I need it for.
So true, mate!
Had a good time trying it this weekend. Thanks for the tip
How sweet would a simple auv3 midi file browser player be? Very.
That might be a subject for Mr. @SevenSystems, he knows how to handle MIDI files 😊
Thanks, but he doesn't know how to handle the frustration of dealing with AUv3 plugins very well
This and he has lost his hearing some....... but Apple has stepped in and saved him. 😂
...only for a jailbreak to step in and save me again from Apple's safety 😂
