Another one...welcome. Who said fear?
Thanks.
Awesome, that's an amazing synth and I always thought the UI was perfect for the iPad.
I have it for the PC as well. I now have another synth that I will need to buy. :-)
18€ according to @Sinapsya
(Around 25 bucks)
This is a big boys' synth, and not a toy. Fantastic amount of power and sound! This one is going to be popular!!! :-)
This thing has more options than Thor :-O Does anyone know what types of oscillators are available? Are the envelopes assignable to different things (like oscillator pitch?)
@ChrisG According to the press release I read, it will be about $20.

Cakewalk® Announces Z3TA+ iOS Music Synthesizer for iPad®
-– Z3TA+ iOS brings its legendary waveshaping sound to the iOS community –
Boston, MA, (January 23, 2014) - Cakewalk, developers of powerful and thoughtfully designed software for modern musicians, today announced Z3TA+ iOS for iPad. Available on the Apple App Store starting in February 2014, Z3TA+ iOS will be Cakewalk’s second iOS product following the successful launch of ScratchPad for iOS.
Borrowing from the Mac/Win versions of Z3TA+ 2, Z3TA+ iOS brings an unmistakable signature sound—used globally in countless successful electronic, EDM and dance productions—to the iOS world. Redesigned to fit iOS screen-real estate optimally, Z3TA+ iOS maintains its legendary impeccable sound quality and sonic depth, while new touch control capabilities open up even more innovative waveshaping sound possibilities.
Z3ta+ iOS’s intuitive sound-shaping environment is segmented into pages. The Synth Page is the heart of the synth, where sound design takes life through oscillators, filters, envelope generators and LFO parameters. The Modulation Matrix/Arpeggiator Page provides exceptional sonic versatility and composition assistance, while the Effects Page offers world-class Distortion, Modulation, EQ, Compression, Triple Delay and Reverb—all with new routing capabilities to craft the perfect sound in the iOS environment.
For creating music on the go, Z3TA+ iOS’s onboard, customizable collapsible keyboard not only triggers notes, but allows shifting octaves, choosing root notes, “holding” notes, and more. Finally, a header strip completes Z3TA+ iOS’s design, by providing easy access to move among pages, search presets, control master volume, and choose additional options through the program menus.
Highlights:
Over 500 on-board, expertly crafted presets
Support for Inter-App Audio, Background Audio, and AudioBus
Classic waveshaping Z3TA+2 synth engine with 6 Oscillators, 6 LFOs, Filters, and more
Modulation Matrix includes 16 Sources, Curves, Controls, and Destinations
Advanced modular effects—Distortion, Modulation, Compression, Delay, Reverb and Limiter
External MIDI control and user-friendly onboard Keyboard
Performance section with Tap Tempo and assignable XY Pad, Mod Wheels, and User Controlled In-Key Pitch Bend
Designed for iPad 2 or above, iPad Air, and iPad Mini
Pricing and Availability
Z3TA+ iOS will be available on Apple’s App Store in February 2014 for $19.99. Visit http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/z3ta/feature.aspx/Z3TA+-iOS for more informatio
@raz I believe the oscillators can be shaped to whatever you want them to be. :-)
six oscillators? :O
@audiojunkie Well, that's even better then. Thanks!
Is this the result of the new Steinberg SDK that can spit out iOS ports of companies VSTs? I kinda hope it is, and at the same time my inner appoholism does not (cos we'll probably see a flood of VSTi and VST on iOS this year then)
@ChrisG I'm not sure if this is a result of the SDK or not, but I'm really happy to see this synth come to the iOS world! I'm a long-time (10+ years) member of KVRAudio, and this synth more than any other that I know of, is very comparable to the Access Virus. There are even mods in the VST realm that take actual oscillators and themes to make it look like an Access Virus. I doubt the oscillators and themes will get ported, but you get the idea of its power. :-)
Yea it's definitely an insta buy here. Heard so much about (on kvr etc), so really looking forward to give it a spin!
One of my fave vst's love the filters and sound sculpting options....a must have app this will be for sure
i was just googling lemur templates for this... so glad there's gonna be a touchscreen version!
Super excited about this one. Been using the VST for ages... top quality professional stuff. Should be loads of fun with the touchscreen... And an absolute steal at $19.99. No brainier must-have.
I've been reading http://www.kvraudio.com/product/z3ta-and-by-cakewalk and if they manage to port all of that to the iPad it will be the king of programmability.
I was struggling a bit with Thor (which is the most flexible iPad synth IMO) following some house fx tutorials, but z3ta should be able to make everything possible from inside one app. The fx bank is great, the modulation, number of LFOs and OSCs!
Cash waiting ;-)
.
This is going to be a GREAT Synth! I've used it in the past on PC. Now, we just need to have Massive and Sylenth to get ported, and IOS devices will be such a force to be reckoned with, there will be iPads in every musicians homes!
