    @Simon
Are you the dev for these new AU apps?

If so, I was impressed with the 2 free apps you created, so I went ahead and bought the Filter suite as a way to say Thank You.

I will do an AppStore review after I explore all the cool filters some more.

  • CracklePot asked: "Are you the dev for these new AU apps?"

No I am not. I am just doing a bit of promotion for the developer Jens Guell. He is busy with code and doesn't have time for promotion.

Glad you bought the full package - it's a lot of nice filters for not much money.

  • I have a another free code for the new JAF Collection app.

To win it please have a look at the free Model One app and private message me with the answer for this:

    • open the “Oscillator” settings and tell me what is the knob on the bottom right hand side of the window.

    First reply gets the code.

Yes, I could just post the code and have a feeding frenzy but I’d like it to go to someone who has at least had a look at the free version.

The free version is very cool. The full version is even cooler.

JAF Collection in Apple Apps Store:

    JAF Collection web site:
    https://midi.digitster.com/JAF/

Even if you don't win you get the 2 free apps!

  • We have a winner - the first to private message me with the correct answer was AudioGus!

A few people said the wrong answer. Not sure what that is all about.

Thank you for entering. And thank you to people who won last night and have emailed me to say how much they love the sound of these filters.

    MORE FREE CODES LATER TODAY!

  • Tip for players - you need to private message me. Please don't post to my wall or the public forum. And having the correct answer helps :-)

Glad you like the free Model One app Jill.

Don't forget to grab the other free app JAX Stereo Tool (https://apps.apple.com/app/jax-stereo-tool-au/id1473390302).

I was running some Blocs Wave drums through the JAF Collection of filters this morning and getting amazing results. Really crunchy, gritty analog sound without those nasty, piercing distortion artifacts that you get on some filters.

Also ran some "chiptunes" sounds through JAF. It turned lame, watery chip synths into something much more substantial.

If you haven't tried the free version yet why not download it and give it a blast:

Thanks so much to @Simon and the developer! :)

  • No worries MrF.

Let us know you go with the app. I'm sure you'll find it useful for adding some beef to your mixes.

I've just read the App Store description of the JAF (Pro) Collection and got curious about the oscillator feature. In which ways does it respond to MIDI messages?

  • rs2000 - I'm not sure. I have not used it with MIDI.

You can ask the dev with this email address: [email protected]

    or download the manual here:

    Thanks!
I do like the modulation options in Model One. A new way of adding some grit to filtered sounds.

  • Seems like at least note, velocity, and aftertouch on the oscillator section response to MIDI. Fun sounds!

  • To be honest I haven't got a clue about the technical aspects of the app - I just love the sound it makes and what it adds to otherwise dull insturments and tracks.

I had a quick look at the manual last week but half of it went over my head. Actually, more like 3/4.

No problem though... just launch the app and tweek the big knobs. Like Jill said, "fun sounds".

  • The “playability” of this filter through the modulation and oscillator control via MIDI adds to whatever you are playing. Now if I could only stop playing with it, I might get some sleep. :D

The "JAF APF" filter model plus modulation is great for emulating those vintage string machines!
Already found a bug though. Gonna send to admin at digitster.com, right?

  • rs2000 wrote: " Gonna send to admin at digitster.com, right? "

    Correct. Thanks for that.

The app is new and there are sure to be a few little bugs like in all apps. The developer, Jens, has a new version awaiting approval with Apple at the moment and he is a bit of a perfectionist so he likes to squash any little bugs.
