I recently setup a new phone from an iCloud backup and presets and recoded audio from various apps all appeared the new device. My old iPhone was an 8gb model so it only had about 20 apps on there.
If you go to Settings > iCloud > iCloud Storage > Backups > (your device), you'll see a list of apps that are included in cloud backups. At the bottom of the shortened list is an option to show all the apps. Every app that I can think of that I own is there.
Of course, an iCloud restore is an all-or-nothing proposition. You can't choose which files or apps to restore, and every app and your iOS version will be updated t the latest. Mind boggling to me as an IT person, but that's the way it is in all of Apple's wisdom.
I believe DRC is all about the cloud backups.
AudioLayer uses iCloud and it's perfect for transferring drum kits between devices.
Volt and all Sugar Bytes synths also use iCloud.
One app which I wish had support is AUM, but I use Dropbox for that.
Sadly, there are apps that don't backup to iCloud. Auria Pro is one. I make sure to backup to hardware to ensure my projects are restorable.

You can do that. You have to do it manually. Fwiw, if using Dropbox it is much faster to backup to Dropbox using the files app or Save to Other App (choosing Dropbox as the destination) than Save to Dropbox. I think the save yo dropbox feature uses the Dropbox API which is an order of magnitude slower than the Save to Other App method (which zips the project and sends a single file).
So in other words it sounds like a developer limitation. It’s strange that AudioShare wouldn’t implement this considering you’re saving recorded files that could potentially be lost if your device is bricked.
By the way, I meant backing up as in syncing with iCloud Drive so you can manage your files without having to do a full restore.

It certainly does backup automatically. I am a disorganized mess but this is from a 4 week old iPhone that was restored from iCloud backup. Note the dates!
Sort of, but AudioShare has the WIFI Drive which makes backing up your files remarkably easy. Wish more apps offered this kind of thing...seeing all the files in that kind of interface is very reassuring.
As I clarified in an earlier post, I meant syncing to iCloud Drive so you don’t have to perform a restore and are able to manage your files from iCloud Drive.
Ah okay I very rarely use iCloud Drive, just saw the part about losing files if your device was bricked and wanted to give people peace of mind

I already pay for extra storage with iCloud and I love how it’s connected to all of my Apple devices. You’d think that since these are all iPad apps then they’d support iCloud syncing with Dropbox as an additional service.
Well for one thing, AudioShare has been around a lot longer than iCloud sync has been available. It's understandable to me that developers don't automatically go back and invest time into supporting every new feature that Apple brings. Return on investment is too small to just automatically do things like that.
Also, given the things I've read about Gadget and AudioLayer issues with cloud sync, it doesn't seem to be quite as simple as simply flipping a switch in the code somewhere, and not maintenance free either.
Well of course, many apps existed before iCloud sync was implemented but that doesn’t stop the developers from updating them to support new features.
Kymatica seems to be an excellent developer and if they were able to implement Dropbox integration the surely using SDKs available in Xcode/Swift would be much easier than supporting another service.
Also, I would not be against a small paid upgrade fee. So many people expect every update to be free but if the developer is actively adding useful features then I would like to continue to support them.
I wasn't saying it couldn't or shouldn't be done. I was just offering a few possible reasons why it hasn't.
One guy. iOS development is not his only living, interest, and responsibility. AUM, his flagship product, just took many, many months to add new features people had been aching for in the latest release, and still has a list of feature requests a mile long and growing. He was also heavily involved in Gestrument Pro's massive, relatively recent release.
Again - just sayin' there can be many reasons not to do something, and not nearly as many motivations to do it. You seem surprised by it. I'm not at all.
Not that many music apps that I can think of have added iCloud sync onto existing apps.
Fair enough. I hope it can be one day implemented. Like I said before, I’d be more than happy to pay for the upgrade to continue my support towards the developer.
Given the problems I've had with cloud sync and other audio apps, I am much happier having a reliable app whose data gets backed up correctly (as seems tone the case with AudioShare) than cloud sync. It is easy enough to move files from AudioShare to a Dropbox or iCloud folder if you prefer to keep your files in the cloud.
You might want to contact the developer directly with the feature request. It would indeed be a wonderful addition. I’m always sad when I forget to replicate samples over to my iPhone.
