AUV3 parameter automation in GarageBand?

Any way to achieve auv3 parameter automation in GarageBand for iOS? Any work around to target these parameters via midi cc?

Comments

  • Automation when using Alchemy will record and stay with the region if it is copied. This also applies to presets that use “Retro Synth lite.” The parameters seem to shift to different parameters depending on the preset. This suggests that there is some type of CC data.

Interestingly, some presets have, for example, a drive knob and the knob links to the parameter in the Overdrive plugin in the signal chain.

I’m still unsure how this all could be used or opened up for more use.

Yes and that kind of automation is track not clip specific. eg. If I have two tracks of the same bass synth and record knob movements on one track, copying the clip to the second track will not also copy the automation.

but since OP is asking about auv3 automation specifically...

The only way to record parameter changes is by doing them manually and recording the audio with Enso. No automation, just old school by hand stuff.
