@Caustic_Rej If you do start talking to graphic designers, you could do worse than contacting Ryan, a member of this forum. He's done work on Guitarism, so he's familiar with the requirements of graphics for iOS devices and his work is of a very high standard.
Where is the "Both" option?
Ya know I'd love to see what happened if some of the indie devs, like AB, Rejean, Kymatica, Blip, Holderness, WilsonHolliday, Alexander Z, Wolfram F, etc. got together on building an epic app. With what they can each do alone, combined they could totally crush the big boys. (IMO) It would be like Voltron taking form.
Forget about graphics, they're cool as is. Old school.
.
hahah it would just look like Pollock
Hahaha... Great, let's get this "Voltron Pollock" app started.
I like both. Gadget definitely has the sound down but with years of dsp behind them and much bigger budget. Caustic seems to have been done with efficienty on lower spec devices which is great for anybody. It even runs on my iphone 4.
I can't get along with Caustic, mostly because I don't care for the sound quality, but also because it just interferes with how I like to think about and make music. I am more performance oriented, I guess.
So the Korg thing interests me even thought I don't have any other Korg apps since I'm hearing everyone say it is performance oriented.
Caustic kind of annoys me like RhythmStudio does. I much prefer workflows like Nanostudio, or Figure.
Gadget, with so many PCM based synths, mostly reminds me of Xenon by Icegear (makers of the Cassini synth). It's much more like that than Caustic it seems.

Clean up please?!? XML parse error.
Hi Rej! Any estimates on how long before Caustic gets on Audiobus? We are all hoping to see it soon as it would be so great for integration with our other apps. How is progress on that front going?
Time estimates are hard, because I only work evenings these days (new baby)
As for progress, well I've got Caustic working as an output, that's the easy one. I need to evaluate how much work is involved in getting other scenarios going too. I'd like to get input working too even through my samplers are limited in recording time. I might just release an update with output first, then work on the other ones after.

I have both here. My main caveat with Korg: they have not done a very good job with their MIDI on iPolySix and iMS20, so I am not at all hopeful they'll get this much better. OTOH I have great expectations for Caustic MIDI evolution, @Caustic_rej is here nd listens (I have suggestions:)
.
I agree with Simon. Caustic as an output would be great for now!
Agreed that Output would be great for the first step. Even in the Output, couldn't the user use the samplers? I would think that might offer more options anyway...the user could sample anything from the input slot, or if setting the input to mic, they could sample ext instruments too. Not sure if it's possible, but seems interesting.
+1 for output first. I quite like how Caustic looks so I would take features before graphics.

For me it is the immediacy and live aspect (create on the roll). I sometimes Have an idea in the morning before all family gets up, just fire up gadget and I get very close to what's in my head within seconds. So I can go and brush my teeth smiling knowing I can further develop it later on.
I usually smile anyway when cleaning my teeth...
Me too. Being from the southeast, I'm lucky to have any.

@funjunkie27 - that worked with Auria first release.
I've never tried it @dwarman, but it makes sense that it would work.
@PaulB I don't smile until I've put mine in.
Ding! We have a winner!

Scuse my ignorance, is it because getting punched in the face is your regions favourite pass time?
More because the moonshine tends to rot them.
Caustic works on an iPhone as well. That may be a winner for some.
Derek.
Caustic you can do so much on it, a winner for me.
