Eventide's Blackhole Reverb, MicroPitch & UltraTap Delay for iPad & iPhone - Daveypoo, Mobile Music

Me too, me too! I want to talk about Eventide's apps too!

Hope you dig my take on these amazing apps.

  • I really enjoyed your video and that nice groove! Was that a custom preset on Factory?

  • I'm glad you liked it - I was inspired by @jakoB_haQ and his Blackhole video to go down tempo, and this is where Eventide's apps led me.

The Factory preset is called Night Cruiser - it's probably my favorite patch that came built in.

  • With the micro pitch can you do something like -9 cents in the left channel and +9 cents in the right? Stereo detune This was a killer effect in the Yamaha spx 90 I used to own.

  • @Optahealth You can increase the pitch of A by up to 50 cents, and decrease the pitch of B by up to 50 cents. So yes, it can do what you're asking.

Imagine if it was +/- 12 semitones. It would be super fun to create arps and stuff :)

I like that MicroPitch is both limited in scope and more than it initially appears - it's not fully a harmonizer, nor a chorus, nor a delay. If it were any one of these I'd say it's missing some features, but since MicroPitch is really it's own thing, I'm not disappointed. It fills a hole I didn't know I had in my effects library.

I love it as it is as well and the UI works so well even on an iPhone 8 which can't be said about many other AUv3's that become too microscopic bordering to being totally unusable...

Me, I'm just on a 'coma state' when playing Model D thru the Eventide AUv3's :)

  • I am truly impressed by how transparent these effects are. The groove I put together in the video was mostly default settings - I hardly adjusted anything and it was amazingly musical straight away.

Typically I have to roll off the low end when I start stacking reverbs as it gets all washy and muddy, but somehow that wasn't happening here. Impressive, to say the least.
