New App idea: Midibus???
Audiobus is a great idea, and is so simple to use.
What would be great would be some kind of app with this functionality for midi. Same layout, but channeling midi between apps.
If this could be added to audiobus itself then that would be amazing.
There is already Genome that does midi, but I always have a lot of trouble getting this to work properly, and Genome is a bit heavy on requirements as it has it's own sequencer.
Midibus would not need a sequencer, just the easy routing of midi between apps.
What do you think??

They've hinted that this is a problem they'd like to solve but there's no public timeline that I'm aware of. It could be grand.
Check out MIDIBridge. I believe that does what you're describing.
Midi Bridge is great i just wish it would have this nice and slick Audiobus UI.And often enough i don't get the desired connection to work. But this i nothing i can blame the app for i guess.More a a problem in front of the screen^^
Yup MIDIBridge is amazing in depth and powerful, use it all the time with audiobus..
great for routing to hardware midi from specific apps through specific channels.. filters are very powerful..
Ok cool, it works between apps on the same iPad then?
Crabman, is it complicated then? I'll have to check out some vids
Another satisfied MidiBridge user here. There is a bit of a learning curve with it and UI is not as slick as AB, but there is loads of info on their site and the developer is really responsive. AB has borrowed a few ideas from MidiBridge,IMO. Maybe they should change the name to MidiBus?!
And , yes it works between apps on the same iPad or to another via wifi. Sometimes it can connect apps that you didn't even know you could and if you are driving multiple apps from multiple sources, then it is in valuable for connecting, splitting, filtering and merging.
It even works with the infamous Sampletank.
Ooooohhhh. Why did you have to mention SampleTank. i sooo need this app on the bus. Sigh.... About once a month I post on IK,s FB page to get SampleTank on the bus. Lol

this is a good piece for those who don't have a copy of midibridge
Nice to know ST works with midibridge tho. I'm hoping an update for ST comes soon fixing the virtual midi and getting on the bus.
@AkaMarko ST does not work with connecting apps, i use midibridge to connect ST to my ipod on my Synthstation 25.
@mgmg4871, oh okay. Either way. ST is long overdue for an update/fix.
