Ipads 12,9 discussion (looking for advice)

I'm looking for 12,9 ipad pro (used) and I'm thinking if buying 1st generation make sense in 2019? any advices? I use mainly Korg gadget, AUM with not so many instruments/effects. And the difference between 1st and 2nd generation looks big - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_iOS_devices#iPad_Pro

    The difference in price between gen1 and gen2 doesn’t seem that big, so might as well try and find a gen2.

    Like @BiancaNeve said, find a gen2 Pro. You won't regret it, it's one of the best iPad's for music making in AUM and Korg Gadget.

    I have a 1st gen Pro 12.9 and it still works great. BUT it is starting to show its age and requires occasional reboots to reduce glitches. I would suggest, as @BiancaNeve and @Pierre118 have mentioned, go for 2nd gen if you can. The extra processing power should get you at least an couple additional years of use. App requirements rarely decrease, so you’d be wise to get the best one you can afford now or you may be looking for a replacement sooner than you’d like.

    I have an ipad pro 12.9 1st gen. I can run BiasFX, sampletank, FM player2 and Galileo2 in AUM simultaneosuly. Resource useage gets to 80% peak. It has been dependable for me.

    I am also pondering a 1st gen 12.9 pro. I have a 1st gen 9.7 pro already and I adore it. Im considering getting a second one to ensure my live set is stable (like DJing between two iPads) but Im wondering if it is worth getting the bigger one with 4GB of RAM. Does this improve its performance over the 9.7?

    I've been questioning even getting a 2nd gen pro 12, as far as future proofing my purchase. I really want one, lightning and headphone jack and all. I like that all my devices share same chargers, but things are heading in different directions now. And external storage has it's attractions.

    I usually operate behind the curve, expense wise, so I might still do it as they get cheaper on the 2nd hand market. But we know it will have a lifespan.
