Freezing tracks through audiobus

Hi there

How can I keep the sounds from for example Sampletank run through Audiobus to Cubasis? When I want to freeze the track the instrument from Sampletank seems to be replaced with instruments in Cubasis (piano)! Same thing when creating a mixdown! That's not really usefull!

Cheers

  • Make sure that you have changed the Cubasis assigned instrument from the piano to "No Instrument". Route that track's MIDI out to Sampletank. Create (if one wasn't already created for you) a new audio track and set its source as from Mono to Audiobus>SampleTank. Record enable and record the SampleTank playback to that track.

You can't freeze anything but IAA instrument tracks. And last I knew, SampleTank's IAA was broken. I have not tried again since they updated.

    Thank you Wayni

All the things you described is excactly what I do! Now forgive me for asking stupid questions but I'm quite new to all this and abbrevations are a puzzle to me...what is IAA? Could it be something like Internal Application Audio?

  • You simply need to record the MIDI track to audio.

In Cubasis mute everything but the MIDI track driving Sampletank, then create a new Audio track and go to the routing to point it to Audiobus --> Sampletank, then arm the track, and record. The MIDI will drive Sampletank and the resulting audio will be recorded in your new track.

  • Inter App Audio. If you go to your MIDI track and change its instrument, at the top of your list you will find IAA instruments. SampleTank should be in that list. Like I said, it may or may not work. Otherwise, use AB and do as I and @richardyot have instructed. Note: you can't freeze it in. You have to record it. Can't even mixdown. You have to record to audio.

  • thanks guys :-)
