Just AUv3

My main host as a keyboardist only supports AUv3..

Which made me decide to only buy apps that support AUv3 in the future..

Just wondering if there are more people moving away from IAA for various reasons?

(Still hoping many of my current apps will make the switch to AUv3, yes i am looking at you Korg)

  • I like AUs, probably prefer them, but I will use any app that I find useful, even a non-connectable app.
I have become pretty good at making any app work for me, just requires a little patience and thought. And a second device comes in handy.

    This^

Prefer the au but there's some great iaa that I love.
Aks1 , mitosynth, Thor, samplr, nave, ... Oh man the list is long

  • I rarely buy music apps that don’t support AUV3 at this point, unless it’s something like Electribe Wave which I just bought because it opens in Gadget now. I also bought Koala which is pretty cool, kinda reminds of an Sp404. As far as using apps in a Daw goes I’m just at the point where I just reach for an au first. It’s just more convenient. And we have some really great ones now.🤷🏽‍♂️

  • With SynthJacker and AudioLayer (or your sampler of choice), you can use all your favorite IAA synth sounds in an all-AUv3 host!

Just out of curiosity, what host are you using?

  • I really don’t care at all if an app is AUv3 or not. In fact to be honest I prefer Inter App Audio apps. I find them beefier, more wholesome and generally just more solid. They suit my workflow. I do not whoop for, and I am not hoping that whatever app becomes AUv3. In fact I think I would be happier if AUv3 did not exist at all- they are just too piffly- with their little boxes and need to be sequenced by another piffly AUv3 in another lane.
Stand on your own two feet for goodness sake..... get your own sequencer. AUv3’s are like being offered salad when what you really want is a steak pie.

    VEGANS UNITE!

I refuse to use an app that once had a face.
