Just to mention- I find Saffron Saturator gives Troublemaker a nice bit of added oomph.
Thanks for the tip!
Will definitely give that a try.
Excellent, Saffron is one of the FX apps (very few, honest guv) that I've hardly ever used and this sends me off with renewed vigor nurse etc.
also don't discount AUM's built in saturator, it is quite nice! (haven't tried saffron yet)
No AU, but does run on the phone, Transistor Bass inside FL Studio Mobile.
When i tried it, it was not possible to set note accent (in mobile version), did they fixed it ? Totally crucial thing for proper 303 emulation.
There is an Accent control on the synth. You trigger an 'Accented' note by using a velocity higher than 100.
I have a Freebass FB383 cheap and cheerful (at the time) 303 hardware simulator type thing in glorious acid orange (truly hideous) from the 1990s (about 98 IIRC, I definitely had one in 98 cos I used it on an album I did at the time).

Sounds good though and has a VCF input.
I've just seen that they're back, in desktop format and they're way cheaper than the FB383 goes for used (I've seen them go for £200 or £250 if modded by circuit benders.co.uk. Apparently they don't have the same TB303 transistors in the filters that the 383 has though. But look, it's so cute :-) And circuit benders will happily mod it too.

I must rebuild my rack and get this thing fired up again! I want to see what an iOS synth run through the VCF of the 383 will sound like. I have no idea how close @dendy would score the 383 or the new MB33, but the 383 sounded close enough to my ears back in the 90's...
Sorry for the OT, but this thread got me wondering about my old 383 again. Nostalgia rules. :-)

Nice one, Win!
Everyone - check out Win dropping knowledge with this sample set he did for the acid heads:
I think everyone wants a 303 simulation, interface and all., the way it works etc is what makes it great...with out the aggressiveness its useless.
yawl forgot tabletop TR 303
It is such a shame that ReBirth got canned.
I have it on the iPad and love it but I can't imagine how tiny the controls must be on the iPhone version.
If you have a Mac you can download ReBirth for desktop here:
https://www.macintoshrepository.org/2654-rebirth-rb-338-2-0-1-cd
Not sure what Mac OS it requires.... probably an older one.
It refers to it running on a G3 or G4!
Ha - that's old!
Well, you can pick a G4 tower up to $10 these days. And the software is free. So, you get 2 x 303s, an 808 and a 909 for $10. Good deal
And it costs you $10 an hour in electricity and heats your street, the 808 and 909 are sample based and the 303s aren't any more accurate than Troublemaker.
It is easy to be nostalgic, but there is no good deal or value in running Rebirth ever again.
If you want authentic buy an analogue clone, everybody else, Troublemaker is perfect.
Old iPad with rebirth. Thats the cash money acid. Why no update I cannot fathom.
I think they got smacked down by Roland.
That’s it- no longer available- Copyright infringement and it is so good you can see why. If you have it do NOT delete it, unless you are sure you will never want it again.
I got an email from Audiorealism a week ago saying they have a working 64 bit version of Technobox 2. Nothing more.
I honestly kept my old iPad because so many apps didn't update. Rebirth is one of those apps that back in the day you would buy a friggin pc for! (me anyway). I am so glad because rebirth and at least one or 2 amazing apps are still rocking and no updates in sight. I forget what apps they are right now. Some of the more obscure ones for sure...
Why would you buy a PC for Rebirth back in the day, it was a copy of Rubber Duck and DT, and they where much better too, insults of insults, Props then ripped off the protocol for linking Rubber Duck and DT and called it Rewire lol.
Oh and you can still download both of those for free.
superexcite
I look forward to using this again. HOPEfully
Actually that was on Twitter. I also got an email saying they plan to release it. No timeframe given. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if people contacted them expressing interest.
yawl forgot tabletop TR 303> @Simon said:
i got rebirth running on my mac with parallels desktop, ive used it for ages, even created rebirth mods with artists (industrial goth, dubb reggae etc etc) even porn mods with actual sounds by the artists to compensate bass ( actual thump from behind) snare (butt slaps) HHs (girl moaning fast) HH open (girl moaning long) and it was allot of fun...
Anyway... abletop looks very close to the 303, Rebirth on a mac can be run via virtual PC, Rebirth v2.0.1, there are any sites offering free copies (not cracks) https://www.google.com/search?q=Rebirth+v2.0.1&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b
and i see more when i google, https://vetusware.com/download/Rebirth RB-338 v2.0.1/?id=13882
dont blame you, until Apple is held accountable for their monopoly and terrible anti cunsumer scams you will find many people running perfect studios dated just before and after Jobs passed away., Sadly since Tim Cr00k (double zero) took over., Apple is literally openly screwing their customers and developers with limited ports, connectivity, money developers deserve is pocketed and in the end us users end up extorted into buying new machines as the less then 3 year old ones break and Apple doe snot support them.
You probably already know about it but here it is:
