Stop iOS Safari from opening last used website?
If there a way to have iOS Safari always open to one website instead of going to the last used website?

Though I get it that this isn’t exactly the answer you’re looking for. You want to be able to tap the Safari icon rather than a separate shortcut, probably.
Thank you, I tried Googling and it did not turn up that link, perhaps because I did not use the phrase "Set Safari Home Page" as I could not find a home page function in Safari so I figured there's not much point Googling for a feature that is not present.
It would be nice if Safari did have a home-page setting like most browsers.
I have not checked other iOS browsers and I did not realize Safari's limitations in this (and no doubt other regards). I like Firefox on Windows but have no idea if it has a more robust feature set on iOS as compared to Safari. You can turn this kind of thing into a career when the objective is music not computer doodling. So many needless distractions that give the superficial appearance of getting something done!

Conceptually there isn’t a need for a homepage setting in safari as apps are not ‘Quit’ as such. Users aren’t supposed to ever quit an app. The OS deals with that.
Pressing the home button (or equivalent for newer devices) doesn’t mean quit, which is why safari (and most apps in general) should just return to wherever you were when you go back.
If you want to approximate the quitting behaviour you can close open tabs before leaving safari. A quick way to do this is to press and hold the tabs button (bottom left) and select ‘Close this tab’ before leaving safari.

It can get confusing as a lot of apps, especially audio apps, don’t behave this way. Conceptually they should but in practice this could be way too resource heavy (you can’t leave loads of auv3s loaded whilst you do other stuff. So iOS kills those apps when it needs the resources for other apps or to maintain low power usage.
You can also use DuckDuckGo browser and see it to automatically clear tabs when you exit the app. This then takes you to the search page every time you go back to it.
You can also close tabs by pinching and then pressing the x icon in the corners of the tab thumbnails....this way you can close multiple tabs quite quickly.
Yeah we’ve all been there, you wanna show your friend an insightful philosophical discussion you came across on the Audiobus forum but when you open the browser all of the porn you were looking at the night before comes up. Gotta close those tabs before quitting.

Only on iPad. You just tap the bottom right icon on the iPhone . But pressing And holding the tab icon makes it easier with one hand (it’s hatd to reach the close icon in th top left one handed). And if more then one tab Is open the menu gives you an option to close all tabs.
Using the DuckDuckGo browser set to automatically close all tabs on exit is probably the closest to what’s requested. It would work even better if iOS allowed you to set your own default browser.
