Could Apple offer music apps etc. like this? ‘Google Play Pass'

edited September 2019 in General App Discussion

“ ‘Google Play Pass', a new subscription service that offers access to curated apps and games for $4.99/month. The service will compete with Apple's recently launched Apple Arcade.

Play Pass is a new subscription service that gives you access to more than 350 apps and games that are completely unlocked—all free of ads, in-app purchases and upfront payments. Play Pass offers a high-quality, curated collection of titles from Stardew Valley to AccuWeather, with new apps and games added every month.

Play Pass is coming to Android devices in the U.S. this week, and will come to additional countries soon. The service costs $4.99/month and comes with a 10-day free trial; however, for a limited time, you can get your first twelve months for $1.99/month.“

  • Is there anything their related to music making? I suspect these "games" are highly addictive
and use input devices that exacerbate carpel tunnel (tendon) problems... and make you spend a lot of money buying apps you never use after the day of purchase.

What kind of idiot would do that?

You're in the right forum, for sure. (Even If OT). Does this mean there are some subscription models that are just great deals? I'll bet it involves making an account and giving them your email address.

  • What if Apple offers music apps etc. this way?
Would this be good for app developers?

  • My gooodness they have no shame whatsoever do they. Monkey see, monkey do.

Look how streaming music benefits musicians. I think it would be very mixed results.
