  • @jimpavloff the drive option on the mixer forces the drums to mono. Maybe this is intended but just wanted to check.

Yes, the drums saturator is intended to be mono (because it has a lot of stages, and eats cpu).

Yep, doesn’t look like automation works at all (in AUM) using parameters. Looks like it still responds to midi routed directly to it

Just tested with Cutoff parameter from AUM and it seems to work fine: when I move it, the Cutoff knob in the UI moves too, and vice versa, with reaction to the sound. What do you mean it doesn't work at all?

Ok, sorry I should have been more specific.

If I add say Rozetta LFO as a midi device, and use this Midi ctrl device in AUM, and then Midi learn against a parameter in the Midi Ctrl, and press play... the LFO doesn’t affect the parameter in PA.

Sorry hope that makes more sense!

And yes it does seem to work if you expose the parameter to the mixer view of AUM - just not via automation... unless I’m wildly mistaken.

It would probably help Jim if you could post a short video.

@jolico maybe you should report the AUv3 update on the thread title.

Wish I could. It doesn’t let me edit anything over a month and the original post was made in September.

My bad, I know that but I was too excited for AU update, or I’m getting old...

  • @jimpavloff , it would be nice if, in the seq module, the ‘length’ function was a knob instead of a button, and always available.

  • Can’t seem to control any parameters in NanoStudio2 unfortunately.

It appears to let you map them. But they don’t respond at all.

Ie - turning one of the 8 macro knobs in NS2 that you’ve mapped to, say, cutoff, does not change the cutoff of the synth at all.

Hope this can be fixed. Then it will be great to use this and automate it in NS2.

Bug with NS2 just found! Please wait for the next update. Btw, this may also kill the parameter bug with AUM + Rozetta, didn't tested yet.

Is there a way to tempo sync PA with external gear i.e. a digitakt? I can’t for the life of me work this out!

Use the AU in Audiobus, then send midi clock from Audiobus to the external gear or from the external gear to Audiobus.

AUM should work as well I think, but only with AUM as the clock sender.

    Wonderful! Thanks!

Can’t wait to start automating in NS2.

Sound-wise it sounds lovely by the way!

Does anybody know how to sequence the drums in NS2? As you can't record the MID out from PA into NS2 easily (yes I know the workarounds, but life's too short to bother with that kind of nonsense ) I want to sequence the drums in NS2 directly so that I can arrange things the way I want without using the PA sequencers.

In AUM, Rozeta XOX plays the drums on channel 10 nicely.

NS2 will only let me play the synth.

If i hook up an XOX it still just plays the synth. i think NS2 ignores the midi channel.

How are you setting it up as there are 16 drums in PA and only 8 in XOX? Are you using two XOX’s for all the drums, or just using specific drums on PA or maybe something else?

Don’t know if it’s me, but, shouldn’t the scale stay locked in the sequencer once generated (say D minor) and not revert back to ‘C Chromatic’ every time.. Seems it would make sense to know the scale of the song (preset) selected too.

Also, a global scale-lock switch would be nice..

    Nice..🙏

Edit.. BTW.. pattern switching is a gem.. in Au mode (multi instanced). Thank you..

Yes please fix this @jimpavloff, its a real workflow interruption, if you are in a groove and reopen PA - it has defaulted to C Major.
Ps great job on the AU... just when I was thinking it couldn’t get much better....

In AUM It's easy. Hook up a Rozeta XOX to PA and set the drum map to Ruismaker GM and it works great. XOX sends on channel 10 by default so PA will just play the drums.

It doesn’t work in NS2 though, NS2 ignores the channel number and XOX just plays the synth.

Yes if you use two XOXs. Just set the drum maps accordingly -- or just map any 8 PA drums you want to one XOX.

Or use the PA sequencer instead which is already an XOX type sequencer ;-)

It’s not working for me Jim. It keeps the key intact if you are opening and closing the generate window and playing with the other parameters etc - but if you hide the app in AUM by pressing the x at the top right whilst PA is playing, then come back to it (still whilst it is playing) by tapping on its icon to open it up..... the option to generate has reverted to C chromatic, requiring it to be reset if you want to stay in the same key.
