    This is definitely a welcome effort to help standardize MIDI control specs documentation!

    It doesn't do what the catchy thread title says though unless you're going to control a synth with its own control panel or you've got the ultra controller from Mars that provides robotic installation of knobs, switches, faders and displays wherever they're needed. The user would still have to decide which (usually few) parameters he wants to control in which arrangement, even if he's using a super-intelligent iOS app ;)

    Emagic, the original developers of Logic Pro, have done a lot in this regard (especially in terms of documentation and recommendations to MIDI hardware manufacturers) back in the 90s when they wrote SoundDiver, which is IMHO still the best but long dead out-of-the-box MIDI hardware controller for older MIDI hardware running on PC/Mac, supporting an insane amount of devices.

    This project was just born so I expect more to come, like parameter feedback and request message descriptions, conditional messages etc.
