Recording Left Channel only
I have an Akai EIE interface. When I record my guitar straight into loopy I can hear it in both left and right channels. When I use audiobus and select loopy as output and mic as input, I can hear it on either left or right channel which is to be expected. Is there an effect that will convert that signal into stereo while using audiobus or will audiobus 2 take care of this?

I use JamUp. When you select your input within JamUp's settings, you can choose left, right or mix. I think Jamup's output is always a mono signal centered in the stereo field.
Also, maybe look into the AUFX apps, the updates this week all have new L/R input options added. I haven't tried the updates yet, but they are all very light on CPU demand.
I tried jamup with mixed signal and was still only getting left channel.
OK, hmm ... Choose Left channel in Jamup and it should output your DAC's input 1 as a centered signal into Loopy/ Audiobus.
I will try that later on today and see if that helps.

The jamup idea worked. My problem now becomes that most apps don't see all 4 inputs of the akai EIE so only channels 1 and 2 are useable so I have to switch out between my guitar and mics. I need audiobus2.
