Itrack studio or scarlett studio?
Hey guys. I'm going to upgrade my setup from the Samson g-track. And I'm thinking that the focusrite interfaces looks pretty sweet! The itrack studio seems obvious, connectivity wise. But since it requires power and I already have the cck and a powered USB hub to drive the g-track, I could just as we'll use the scarlett studio. But is the one better than the other, spec wise?? And on the side, what do you think of the mic compared to the g-track (which is really noisy) and headphones inkluded on the bundle?? Appriciate your advice.
Oh, and I have an iPad 3.

Scarletts work great with iOS. iStudio is made for us, bus powered. Not sure about the bundle, probably a bit of a come-on to get you to buy, but serviceable. However the iTrack Studio is the newer beast, a little more general in application, also bus powered. I have the 2i2 and am very happy with it. I believe they are pretty equivalent when it comes to performance, same preamp tech etc. Just the $30 diff in price because the iStudio only has one mic pre-amp.
Thanks. Is there any audio loss when connecting the 2i2 through the cck? Compared to a dedicated connection on the solo?
Nope. Digital both ways. And the dedicated connection is more a physical convenience* thing than a logical thing.
Actually I find it more of an in-convenience, because without a USB hub it is not possible to also connect a handfull of MIDI-USB controllers at the same time.
Yeah, that was one of my thoughts to. Would be nice to be able to use my midi keyboard as well. Could do the same thing with the solo, but the scarlet wins due to the 2 multi inputs and a dedicated hedphone volume knob. Thanks for helping me out![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Have you considered the iTrack Dock. I think this has a USB midi port for keyboard and acts as a docking station for ipad or mini but only with lightning connector, as well as charging the ipad . Like the look of this but will have to upgrade my ipad though.
I've looked at it. It's about the same price as the studio bundle. But then I will have to buy headphones and a mic on the side. And I "only" have an iPad 3 with 30 pin. But thanks for the input![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
