Saving/transfer your presets, icloud...confused??

Need some help understanding how to save/transfer your saved presets when either getting a new ipad or if you have deleted an app and redownloaded it.
Not sure how the icloud works with this. Can it be done automatically or manually?
For reference I’m using Icegear and Apesoft synths.

    When getting a new iPad, I make sure my old device is backed up, then restore that backup in the initial setup of the new one. It hasn’t failed me yet.

    As for deleting an app and redownloading it I’m not sure.
