External Recorder(s) that allow file transfer via USB to iPad without external power source?
My targeted workflow is to record samples just with an external recorder and later copy these to the iOS device without external power supply. Just one cable. Is that possible?
With ios13 opening up new possibilities for file transfers, I am interested in battery powered (field= recorders that allow the connection via USB/CCK without external power supply or powered hub needed to exchange files. Do these exist?
I already read that the Zoom H1n, H5 and H6 work as a USB class compliant audio interface without external power (unfortunately not the H4n Pro) but I read nothing about using these devices as an "SD-card reader".
I already checked my older Olympus LS-3 (european model) and it connects but my iPhone states that is draws too much power and I am not able to access the samples.
I also checked my Sony M-10 and with this device I do not even get a message from iOS. Seems it simply does not work.
Any experiences?

My ancient zoom h4 uses an SD card for storage. You could use a card reader to transfer files without needing power even if using the device itself needed a hub ( which it might not ).
@eos My H1n works as an SD card reader on an iOS13 iPhone but only when using a powered CCK3.
Maybe check this thread for more user experience regarding file transfer from external recorders:

Merci everybody. It seems that there are no devices that allow USB file transfer without external power.
I think I will stick to the card reader solution while away from external power and probably revert to direct connection if external power is available.
Correction:
With CCK3 and external power supply the USB file sharing works on the Olympus LS-3 and the Sony PCM M-10.
