I know the mighty loopy 3 will eventually come out but now, in the present (which is not the future) I’m going to go back to my man cave to play with my (now) Loopy. Loopy that’s now 6, 7 or even 8 years old?

    Good going @Michael!

    It’s where it’s at.

Hey, just grumbling for grumbling's sake. I'm in the middle of having a mancave (albeit one up in the sky) built 'out back' here and largely to play Samplebot in peace etc etc. Can't hardly wait....

No harm in a bit of harmless digital banter ;).
I've tried to do it up in the sky but short haul don't suit it. Also I don't seem to like to create when I can't use all of my tools (voice, guitar) in that flux/escitment of putting a track together.

Well, our ADU (when it's finally done) will also have sleeping quarters, a soaking tub and a full kitchen, so if you're ever this way we'll have a place for you to get your flux/escitment going :)

Soaking tub....you Americans, with your infinte space and a tub in every bathroom. Just jealous.

Thanks for the invite, likewise to you sir. Have 2 ADUs with kitchens but both with showers unfortunately. one’s filled with music gear so can’t be that bad. :)

I am now transitioning to SampleBot from LOOPY....I think the future is more the SBOT approach......

    Why? You triggered my curiosity...

    How dare you.....me .....Triggered....LOL

UM..I think it is more advanced than Loopy and but has all the strengths....

    What about y you?

Never trigger my interest samplebot but I was asking why do you think future is more samplebot? (I understand related to your workflow but anyways... tell me! Tell us!)

My future/present workflow is GTL for looping bur for sampling is BlocsWave... but I look into others approaches to keep me learning

Sorry to be the party popper but as things stand the future is neither SB or Loopy or GTL for that matter. The future is Audio Units yet the only AU looper there is, is ENSO and that’s not the future either, at least not mine.

Have you got EG Pulse? The update has added easy inter-app/mic sampling and can now sit in the FX slot.

If you draw in a full length note in the sequencer, you can record onto the associated pad and use it as a looper.

All AU, so you can have a few going. I had a bit of fun with it this morning.

No, I don’t have it but I’ll take a look, cheers. I’m guessing the length of the loop cannot be set on the fly? Loopy rules at this.

Nah, it’s not really a proper looper in that sense. I record to pads, and then just trigger them in the sequencer, but you can get a really good groove going.

The new 4pockets recorder coming out looks interesting too, but again is a more manual process than a proper looper.

  • Samplebot is great. The sequencer is surprisingly good, and the midi implementation. It can slave to midi clock nicely, great for hardware setups. I like the idea that the samples are sort of disposable, you fill up the pads with sounds you record quickly. I’ve liked the idea of making a group of sound effects, on a synth or something that can only make one sound at a time, and having them all be available to trigger. I’ve tried to do that briefly with a boss dr. Sample, and it was cool, but , it took too long to sample, and the storage was limited, and I would forget which sounds were on which pads.
