NS2 audio question
Hello musicians,
Can I use slate to record audio in NS2?
If so, what is it lacking compared to a real audio track implementationsince everybody is asking for that?
Thanks

Depends on your music I guess, but for me, adding an extra guitar track via Slate would be work-able but very very cumbersome, compared to, say, having an audio track where I mark the bits I'd like to re-take and then loop between two markers (like the midi recording in NS2 works). I could also theoretically record the audio outside of NS2 and import the clips, but it would, again, be a quite cumbersome workflow if you are trying out different ideas.
Yes, you can use slate. Obsidian too. For some that workflow is fine. It doesn't appeal to me though.
One obvious limitation for me is only being able to trigger the audio from the beginning unless you resort to sample start automation workarounds. I also like to see the audio distributed as-is in the timeline rather than just a trigger note here and there.
@hellquist @wim thanks for the info. So it’s a question of workflow, I think I’ll just wait for audio tracks then. I sing and play ukulele on all my tracks more or less so audio tracks is essential for me. I thougt NS2 would sell more with audio tracks than iphone compatibility I guess that’s not the case since the dev chose to implement iphone compatibility before.
