Looking for something I thought was simple
Well I’ve been trawling this and other forums and wasted so much money trying to buy a simple app that will let me write patterns for my growing collection of auv3s .. 😂in a piano roll way... possibly add auv3 effects, and compose in a pattern based way a large fruity loops.... I use Ableton on the pc... but would love something like this on my new iPad w the ability to automate Paramus or even put some Laos on some things to change timbre..> gotta day I like bm3 a lot but it’s not as intuitive as I’d like .... really want something where I can throw down quickly... any ideas for things I haven’t tried? Thanks in advance. Everyone!1!

Atom piano roll + AudioBus and/or AUM. That seems like it does what you've described.
Substitute Xequence 2 for Atom if you want to build more advanced compositions than just loops.
Zenbeats for a workflow very close to what you're used to in Ableton Live.
Have you tried GarageBand? LiveLoops let you do exactly what you've asked for.
You can record MIDI into tracks as well as audio loops, and also you can record patterns into the timeline for further arranging. You can add auv3s, edit the MIDI with piano roll... and it's free...

So many ways to do it.
Everybody will naturally recommend a different way of doing it.
My choice would be Gadget, except if you rely on sampling a lot then NanoStudio 2 would be worth a try. From listening to your songs you seem to rely on samples a lot.
Sample everything to Slate pads so you don't even need additional audio tracks. Great synth/keyboard sampler on board. Automation, AUv3 support and great built-in FX too.
AUM, Atom, all the AUv3s and samplers would be too fiddly for me but many guys here swear by them. Just a matter of taste.

is it more cumbersome than say Live? You can launch a column of clips (which is usually a section of a song) with one tap of that arrow at the bottom. If you arrange the clips for each section of your song I think launching each section is pretty easy. I use the live loops section to help flesh out and jam an arrangement and it works pretty well. So much so that I miss not having a clip launcher like live loops in Logic! I often open GarageBand projects in logic and have to remember to record the patterns to the arrange window first otherwise a song that exists only in liveloops is empty in Logic.
I usually do record the clips to the arrange screen though. I like to have the song in a linear format once I’ve worked out the arrangement.
GarageBand has its faults but I think liveloops is pretty well implemented. I think it’s power is often missed and GarageBand tends to be dismissed before other apps but is actually surprisingly capable.
Cubasis 2 is straight forward and very stable workflow...much easier for most people to get a handle on than BM3.
Nanostudio 2 is also great if you can live without native audio tracks., it has a much better piano roll than Cubasis IMO.
If you like to dive deep into sound design and sample manipulation, the combination of Audioshare, Twisted Wave and SynthJacker has been an endless source of fun and creativity for me. They’re an excellent way to mine unique source material from your AUV3 collection.
Twisted Wave in particular is the best app buy I’ve made in a long time; quick and easy way to experiment with AU effects; but also the built in effects are worth the price of admission alone, extremely tweak-able and sound great - I just wish it supported automation like Audacity on PC.
I’ll sometimes layer individual hits I sample into something like Koala- mixdown and re-import into Gadget or GR-16.
Good luck...you might have to experiment with many different types of workflow before you narrow it down to something that fits your style.
Hey man, I listened to your music. I feel you have potential! Regarding the quick piano roll sketchpad thing. I use AUM and really there isn't a such an app in combination with it that does the job you are looking for yet IMO. Atom is the closest but it still needs work.
I don't get on with garageband, xequence, cubasis (NS2 i haven't tried due to lack of audio tracks and other more specific things) and even BM3 is cumbersome to me compared to Ableton or my hardware gear. AUM is the best choice for me as i also like very quick sketchpad like playing on ipad but recording the audio for looping in real-time and also recording and looping midi note and cc data is lacking IMO. I feel this is something that AUM should do internally.
