🔥 iceGear's latest synth app 🎛 Lagrange might be the best one so far. At least in my opinion. It's got a multi-engine algorithm Oscillators, seven different filter modes, a noise section with a vide range of interesting noise types including its own AD envelope. This is very easy to tweak and offers a lot of sonic variety.
Later updates added a sync saw oscillator as well as an am/ring-mod oscillator.
The digital noise oscillator is quite close to SID-Noise which I'm total a sucker for...
(The added A/D envelope for the noise makes it easy to add some 'transient bite' to the sounds).
It's very hard NOT to recommend this one

Great video, I like the app a lot, has a lot to offer, I think a built in reverb would really make some of the patches shine and sound more lush in stand alone mode, but it’s definitely not a deal breaker and I’ll probably use it as an au for the most part. I’ve been running it thru Blackhole reverb and it takes it to another level. If you’re more into using presets then you might not get into it as it doesn’t have many but it’s great for tweaking and sound design and preset creating imo.
Hey if you can please shed some light on the AM oscillator.
I did some reading trying to get understanding on am synthesis, any insight is appreciated. As far as control goes in Lagrange AM, would this be correct:
The frequency dial controls the frequency of the modulator, and the wave dial controls the type of carrier wave?

I suspect the 'carrier' is always a triangle wave and its frequency is controlled by the played note and the 'frequency' and 'waveform' knobs control the modulator that shapes the carriers amplitude.
I might dig in deeper at some point...

Yeah that update came Quick too. Btw, that Digitakt-noise, Im a real sucker for it to for the same resdons as your own.
I’m not using iPadOS yet. I’m still waiting for it to become more stable. Still seeing too many reports on various bugs and stuff.
All I can say is that I ive done some BLT MIDI testing with my iPhone (running iOS 13) and I haven’t had too many issues. There’s been the occasional hiccup with BLT stuff not showing up and I’ve had to restart everything, Phone and BLT devices.
I’m not sure what to think about it. I’d wait if I where you if the stability of your setup is important.
Thanks. Same here, I’ll remain on 12.3 until things settle. The Korg is way too integral a part of my setup, especially when out and about.
Yeah I was also missing a reverb in this thing, but as you say, it’s got support for AUv3 so it’s not an issue really since one can add any other type of reverb model to it. Also an added reverb built into Lagrange would make it more resource (CPU) heavy. At the moment, I’m able to load 6 instances of Lagrange together with two EOS2 reverbs on send channels. I’ve also got a bunch of Cubasis EQ’s and compressors on each channel including a drum-machine. System is running quite stable on my iPsd Pro 12,9” (2015/2016) model. But I would add much more to it, just to be safe.
Happy to be of service! I’ve had to train myself for years to stop overthinking what I do when doing sound design and instead using my ears. However, I still fail often.
The algorithms in Lagrange are cleanly laid out so it all depends on what one needs, serial or parallel filters and what sources are routed thru them.
I would love to see a real ring mod option among the algorithms similar to LA-Synthesis on the Loland synths, and to kick it up a notch an option to do the ring mod pre/post the filter/filters. Sure this would increase the number of algorithms but...

Ring modulation is even more fun when modulation depth and carrier frequency can be scaled by key, so it'll always sound like it stays in-tune. While you're at it ...
