is there an arpeggiator app that plays notes in pressed order?
is there an arpeggiator app that plays notes in pressed order? just like the arpeggiator in garageband.
tried rozeta and polyarp unit already but no luck with those two. auv3 would be great because i'd like to use it within nanostudio 2.
Comments
If there really is none - this sounds like an interesting side project i could do in easily in Mozaic 😀
i believe rozeta and polystep unit are the only apps that come as auv3. at least as far as i know.
i was thinking of mozaic, too. but i just started to scratch the surface with it. so i would very welcome you starting a little side project
Ioniarics has an option to play in „order“.
oh yes, that looks like just it. wonder why the app store search did not come up with that app?!?
Looking forward to this! @_ki's little "side projects" outshine even my best efforts.
This app does what you describe perfectly.
Funny. I usually wonder why the app store search actually comes up with anything meaningful when I search.
Worst. Search engine. Ever.
Back on topic ... great find @MrBlaschke! I think I need this.
just bought Ioniarics. took me a little while to figure out how to use it just as a simple arpeggio but it works great now. also great to know it can do much more interesting polyrhythmical stuff.
thanks @MrBlaschke !
still playing around with Ioniarics. looks like 100% of chance (A %) only gives you 99%. notes are swallowed every now and then.
@pagefall: is that the wanted behavior?
The arpeggiator built into many Virsyn apps use the order that fingers are placed on the keys. I think LayR's does also.

The In-Order ARP Script will
Right now i'm in the initial concept testing phase to find the best way to manage the active note/channel/velocity-list and to play the arps in sync. If my ideas work out smoothly, expect a release after the weekend
Most of the other topics were dealt with in previous projects, so the implementation is straight forward and just need to be typed and tested.
.
BTW: My script only handles a minor side aspect of what Ioniarics offers, so publishing it should not harm the app. The OP nevertheless bought Ioniarics
With Ioniarics you get cool polyrythmic ARPs with support for different play modes, accents, velocity modifications, note probabilities and snapshots.
great! what else can we get you fixed on?
Seems Addictive Pro is available as a midi source in AB3 so you could point the built-in arpeggiator to any midi receiver app. AP is a beast and this makes it even more valuable. Thanks for the heads up!
Can ArpBud do this?
There's no manual and no details on keybudapp.com.
LayR can do this too yes.
I don’t think so.
Only Up Down Up/Down and Random as choices.

I just published the In-Order ARP script on patchstorage.
It took a bit longer than anticipated - , but for that I added some more nice features and (hopefully) tested everything thoroughly
this is totally awesome!
Yes, very much agree!
Yep awesome!
Really great implementation and design. Thanks @_ki
Is there a way to hold notes or is there a Mozaic script that anyone knows of to act as a hold pedal?
@iamspoon I remember doing such a script, but didn't find it on patchstorage
Looking through the list of StreamByter scripts and list of Moazic scripts, i came up with two StreamByter scripts. BTW StreamByter is a free app now.
Maybe i should port my SustainNotes over to Mozaic and add some more features to spice up the scripting work
Just did a mockup - that looks so empty with just one pad labeled HOLD. I don't know what feature to add to make use of some buttons or the XY area. I am unsure if adding rhytms (for instance like in the McOrchestra) would be feature bloat and distract from its main purpose
Awesome script!
Btw. Mozaic has
@OnPedalDown
and@OnPedalUp
events specifically to make handling sustain pedals easier.Beautiful script, thanks for this !
I also get that feature creap feeling when thinking what to do with all the knobs. Sometimes I wish there was a interface like the mt32 had.
By the way Bryan has made a sustain script, and I have made a sostenuto script.
@Alfred Yeah you are right about the two scripts - i now found them in the 'Controller Scripts' section of the wiki, i only looked at the 'Notes Script' subsection where i classified the StreamByter scripts.
The best classification is of no use if the entries are sorted incorrectly and even the librarain doesn't find anything 😅
I will fix that ASAP, the controller classification fits a lot better...
.
And since there are already four scripts, i'm lucky and don't have to add my own
.
I always start with a clean layout - all labels and headers empty, all knobs at position 0, XY at 0/0 - that helps a bit against the urge to use all of them.
Great script, @_ki, thanks for the MPE support as well. One can probably get some interesting results by adding the CopyCat script after the arp, have a @_ki -themed jam
@_ki @Alfred thanks! I also missed these entries when I first looked on the wiki.
I used your sostenuto script to enable me to use pitchbend up on my controller as a pseudo hold pedal.
(Pretty cool!)
Thanks for creating and sharing these things with us.
I'm struggling to get sostenuto to work. There isn't any help or instructions in the script. I tried stuff, but no luck. The labels are pretty cryptic, which I know is typical of Mozaic. But I need at least some clues to go on. Can anybody help me, or point me to instruction?
I have some experiencing implementing Mozaic scripts, including four instances of _ki's As-Played Arp, which is a major piece of my setup now.
I'm driving it with a regular sustain pedal currently sending CC64 on channel 2. Hosting in AUM.
Thanks,
Steve
